What happened?

Can someone also please injure crisp

That's extremely concerning. I hope the mcc are having discussions with the head of security today. Not sure how that could be missed on the scanner

What scanner? When I've entered the G through the southern stand gates I've had someone look in the top of my open bag, and walked through a turnstile.

you literally go through a scanner before you get to the turnstile

it's meant to speed up the bag check process, but they clearly don't pick up someone with a weapon strapped to their leg

In other Carlton news, the AFL has announced that they will be granted an additional mid-season pick if they lose next week.

The Blues are said to be choosing between the two younger twin brothers of Nathan Fyfe so expect to hear a lot of talk about Owen Fyfe and Norton Fyfe.

Seems the robot did it's part but the humans did not perhaps

Yep wouldn’t be looking at either to solve our issues, not sure there is really anyone on there list that I’d honestly want outside there untouchables in Charlie, Weitering and TDK

They were the 3 that I was thinking of - TDK will have some ridiculous offers if he hasn’t already. Curnow looks like he could still do it if they got the ball to him. Weitering is the only thing holding their defence together.

Fire sale here we come.

Considering who was playing, I’m surprised that they only found 2 guys. The others must’ve got away with it.

It's unbelievable taking guns into the ground, but loaded, that is just horrific.

Any surprise in this State they are on bail?

How did they get past the security machines?

Let’s hope the Dees don’t get offered the same privilege. But if we find ourselves in that state, and if ladder positions stay as they currently are, we’ll get first choice. I think we should take Norton. Given the current state of the economy, we don’t want to go back to Owen.

It was very difficult to try and explain to a couple of my Collingwood mates that by barracking for Carlton to lose did not mean that I was barracking for Collingwood.

Footy Crowds in Australia are slowly catching up to the Northern Hemisphere standards

That is a huge issue…..

I don’t think so not compared to America

N= 1 instances is an issue yes - root cause analysis please

I think everyone would be safer if 95% of Collingwood fans were barred from games

Let’s not pretend access to handguns is the norm

Even having a long arm in the regions has become a major pita

Apparently the metal detectors worked and the operator wasn’t paying attention.

Human error.

My last mcg game was 2010 pies dees (I moved to northern nsw in 2011)

No detectors at Metricon

Think it was last year.

How does Schultz win medal.

The commentators are laughing.

At least 6 better players on the ground, if not more.

Pendles for example was more influential, with many more possessions.

I've just clicked on the Suns v Crows games it's alarming how much our game had digressed in the last year.

We have never been stone wall fit since the departure of Darren Burgess.

Gut running from ANB and Hinge right toward the end of quarter time and linked up and precise kick into the forward line.

Interesting to see what the crowd will be at the G today between Richmond and Brisbane. I know we can't talk but we've never really had the big fan base.

Also watching the Suns v Crows game. How nice to see 2 teams move the ball quickly & open forward lines, oh and a forward that actually marks the footy.

They won’t need detectors at Metricon for a long time – don’t think the pies actually travel that far north do they?

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
