Here we go. Demonland is true to form. Pages and pages of vitriol to one of the club's greatest players. Especially the happy clappers who always think everything is rosey at the club. Then when a player wants to leave, they turn on the player.

For Petracca wanting to leave, then that's on the club. Our culture was putrid.

Unless we get the right deal, hold him to his contract. But I have no faith in Tim Lamb, so I can see us getting screwed over by the Crows.

If Trac leaves, he'll be remembered as a key part of the only flag in my lifetime.

Agree. Not to mention that a few nuffies on here have been conveniently re-writing his career by saying that he has been on a downward slope over the past few years when he made the AA side as recently as 2023 and was on track for another one last year until his injury.

The MFC will NOT be bent over from the Petracca circus. King and the CEO this is your time to shine and make a stand. No cheap deals .

Honestly, I think Trac’s issues are far bigger than one player. He and his entourage do not like our club. I know people will come here and dispute this and say he loves the club and the players, but his head has been turned. He looks down on us and thinks he’s better than what we have to offer him at this point in his career.

So frankly speaking, if his entire issue is our club doing what they thought best for the wellbeing of a champion player, he can enjoy the Barossa.

And he might be awfully disappointed to find out that ours is hardly the only club that panders to troubled stars. Maybe next time he’s cooking burgers with Dangerfield for a Coles ad he can have a chat to him about Bailey Smith.

You reckon there were some tears at Petraccas house when Collingwood lost the PF? 😁

Mum said they would always be Collingwood people right?

We won't offload his salary and get decent picks. It's one or the other unless we take a hybrid deal.

Frankly I think we're just better saying goodbye and unloading that long contract noose

Agree.

If Tracc wants to leave that is 100% on the club.

The players bear no responsibility for the culture of the club. They are passive observers.

HOWEVER ....... The bloke signed a contract .......got nursedf through a pretty severe injury (which limited his "psyche" for nearly half the season . Then turns around and probably will want MFC to "top up his Adelaide (or any other suitor) salary .

What is happening at AFL Land where contracts are conveniently ignored . Petracca was not forced to sign for mega $$$$ but in two years (out of8 ) has change of heart !!!

I have stuck up for him due to his injury but the AFL is fast becoming the wild west for legality and committment.

The way things are going Grand finals will have Brisbane playing "Cotton on" ad nauseum because Brisbane's good footballers have brilliant footballers in their next generation and "Cotton on " seem to be outside the salary cap.

Petracca isn't forcing his way out of the club. The club are open to the trade, Adelaide are open to doing the trade, so Petracca is talking to Adelaide. Why are people so butthurt.

Butthurt 😆.

that the problem with lamb is he doesn’t want any problems, he pays overs to get players in and gets unders when they go. The only one I recall us putting the foot down was hogan and we did get a good return on that in retrospect but then gave it all away to get may one year early before free agency. 100% of trac nominates crows we get at most 14 and a future first which he will probably then hand over in its entirety for Flanders. 🤢

Wasn't the report always that the club was open to a trade that suited us and Trac was open to a move but not desperate? Pretty expected that Trac would have to meet with other clubs under those circumstances. Think that's about as mature an approach as you could expect.

Still a world where he's playing for the Dees next year. Really depends on how serious Adelaide/Gold Coast are about getting this done.

King has no emotional connection to him, so why would he want someone around that does not want to be there, he has a clean slate and would want a team that wants to grow with him.

That's a great point you make about King perhaps not wanting to deal with disgruntled veteran players whom he has no connection with.

If Trac goes, I'd say King has given it the massive green light and damn the consequences if we win 7 games instead of 9 next year.

I never thought I’d feel this way but I really hope he goes.

I’m just over it.

He doesn’t want to be here so, on ya bike son!

We just have to get the best deal for him.

Thilthorpe and a first rounder or a couple of top youngsters and picks

Some sensible and realistic thinking imho.

What we got for Hogan and paid for May was entirely reasonable. That trade was one of the key reasons we were able to win a flag.

We're lucky Trac is a January birthday, and that he's still 29 for the trade period. Much better optics than him being 30!

This is a serious post, I am not a crackpot

I would be appalled if we move on Trac just to make some room in the cap we have nothing to do with. Basically just making our list worse for nothing.

He's a gun player and gun players get paid the big bucks. Adelaide aren't chasing him because they reckon he's in the bargain bin, they're doing it because they think he might be the difference in winning a flag.

Only posters that have never moved jobs are allowed to have a pop at Trac.

Last year he went about it all wrong. Put everyone’s nose out of joint. This year he and the club are on the same page.

Nothing changes if nothing changes. Let’s get the best deal we can and let JT work his magic at the draft. We if we can land a couple of promising kids I’ll be happy.

Yes but we could have waited one year still got May and used the pick to, and you know who gc took with that pick Ben King, imagine that outcome

binman: only a true crackpot would deny being a crackpot

adonski: ok, i am a crackpot

binman: he is a crackpot, he is crackpot!

(PS - please land on anew avatar - I'm getting confused)

Nope. He would have ended up at Collingwood. May was being traded that year, we got in late and turned his head.

I'll be in serious trouble if Flanders doesn't pick us

It’s mentioned 14 ( marked back to 30) and change for Trac.

That would be miles off the ‘correct compensation’ the club has mentioned.

More likely GCS sent him to Adelaide in an attempt to better 14+ with 11+

Neither should work.

Surely 6+ or he stays .

I believe in the Golden Rule. We’ve got the gold ,so we make the rules.

Chill everyone, this is just the ‘Bring back Nibbler’ campaign.

AGREE. TRAC CAN NOMINATE THE CROWS BUT REMEMBER HE IS UNDER CONTRACT.

IF THE CROWS OFFER US A “PACKET OF BISCUITS” IN THIS AVERAGE COMPROMISED DRAFT AND THE NEXT COMPROMISED DRAFT, THEN THE ANSWER IS A NO. PICKS AROUND 21-22 ARE AN INSULT.

TRAC IS UNDER CONTRACT. HE WAS RUNNER UP IN THE B&F. HE POLLED 16 BROWNLOW VOTES.

KING. GUERRA. GREEN/SMITH. SHOW SOME TEETH AND MAKE A STAND.

I mean he had options to meet with other clubs and keep it out of the public eye.

Flying into Adelaide was always going to get picked up by the media and by doing so he’s made it more difficult for him to be in the red and blue next year.

Calculated move by brand Petracca and his team.

At least the GC have a good hand to deal with plus a pick 7 for Flanders.

Isn’t Bella’s family from Noosa, let’s face it she wears the pants in the relationship

You're overthinking this.
