Pretty sure we are fine for cap space if had enough for Houston last year and with the outgoing players this year.

Not sure if we have front/back loaded any significant wages though?

Dimma's pitch to Trac will be that, if he comes to GC, he will turn Trac into another Dusty

He' be naive to think that'll ever happen. The AFL brought in the stand rule and the High Fend off to prevent a game breaker like that from ever standing head n shoulders above the rest in a dour low scoring tussle. We've got Ashcrofts n Daicoses nowadays that are fast and fit enough to break lines and impact to that level.

"You can be our Cam Rayner" is about the most realistic ceiling ie when it's not all about you, we'll need you to physically impose yourself to make space for our other mids to rip the games apart.

any chance Trac and 23 could get 6 and 7 back from the Suns?

maybe we have to add little pieces to it, but 2 more top 10 prospects into our young list would be exciting!

I think that would work OR 6 and Flanders for Trac and 23 either way it is about the right price.

Just did a quick Google and looks like Trac, Oliver and Pickett are back loaded 😬

Agreed.

That’s a pretty clear line of communication, and impressively-devoid of spin/corporate-speak. Feels all the more honest for it.

While we’re still sussing Guerra out, he’s scored an early point for the handling of this situation so far.

I like Big G. Whenever I have heard him talk or be interviewed he comes across really articulate. Hopefully we have picked a winner here.

Pick 23 doing the heavy lifting in these scenarios. It's closer to a junk pick than a deal closer.

i dont think there are any players left this year that are overly appealing in a trade sense, we should be looking at what we can do for next year. If we can get Answorth, Bailey, Lewis, (all FAs) add another 1st rounder or 2 suddenly we have resolved the 22-28 age gap on our list and puts us in the market for 5 years of success, maybe see if we can get to Bergman 12 months on. Gardiner, Justin McInerney other options who should be on our whiteboard.

Lets take first round picks and then we can sell them on to academy teams, FS teams or use them at the top of the darft

Not for the clubs with Northern Academies. They need the points to complete their draft-rorting extravaganza. I expect most clubs will be trying to trade picks with them and/or into next year.

The best thing about this is that there is 2 clubs going to be involved in a bidding war.

Its good news for us Demon fans, unfortunate that it has come to this but the Dees will recieve the outcome we desire.

Fair enough. If it was a non-rort situation, I reckon they'd be wanting a pick 12-15 or so from us not 23, but all the mores for us. Surely they'd want a future 2nd as well then

This has underpinned Melbourne's pick upgrades for a few years now.

GC will lose a couple of other players eg Fiorini which will gain them some extra points.

So 23/24 involved somehow is not out of the question IMO if GC acquires other picks separately.

Pick 7 allegedly on offer from the saints for Flanders.

Cant see GC going late into finals without a player like Tracc.

The Crows can forget it.

Its wait and see.

Screw picks give us Bailey Humphreys or bugger off.

I get the idea, he’d be great but I feel like the suns are more likely to give us Ben king than Humphrey and even that isn’t very likely.

I don’t think we should accept just anything in a deal but if we aren’t going to accept something realistic we are better off just telling him he’s staying now imo.

Jedd Walter or Ben King. GC can choose which one, I'm not fussed either way. If the are into Curnow or JUH, which they are, then no need for all these KFP.

Pick 7 would only be the approx the 12th best player in the draft due to FA compensation for Oscar Allen and northern academies bids

who no longer appears to want to hunt the ball like he used to.

I feel like the suns should be a fairly obvious choice. Their talent on paper is just ridiculous and Trac wouldn’t actually need to be a superstar for them to win a flag next year and beyond.

I feel like the crows need him to be at his absolute best to get value where as the suns he’s more of the icing on the cake.

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
