If players like this are the keys to success, Iโ€™ve no interest in the game. Some crew just want to chase flags. Iโ€™m not that crew. I like the club vibe.

Iโ€™m also drunk and sad in a very strange country.

You must be drunk. Flags are all that matter.

Cashing out only works if you are paid, even if you are correct and we need to rebuild what they are offering is unlikely to help, we need high end picks inside 5 not end of first round where it becomes speculative. If Dangerfield is any comparison trac still had 5-6 good years left, would you be advising blues to trade out Cripps for the same deal as they are essentially in the same boat as us.

0 votes to a midfielder taking up a crazy amount of our salary cap.

Of course he has upside, as many on here argue, largely because there isnโ€™t possibly any more downside.

Are you talking about Oliver wouldn't surprise me. Trac got 16 GUN

I think the point being made is that you dont trade a player that scores 16 votes in a down year for a few picks in one of the worst drafts in a while.

I cant really see much upside in trading Tracc unless there was an absolute offer too good to refuse.

And count how many Melbourne FC Norm Smith Medalists you can remember.

Posters saying Trac best years behind, Dangerfield premiership @ 32 & possibly 35!

it seems t me he is the cultural problem at the dees

Hasn't put in 4 quarters for a long time.extremely poor body language points and blames other players, poor disposal

Must be a nightmare to play with

If you think Petracca is a cultural problem what's your thoughts on Oliver?

C Oliver 0 votes this year after missing just one game.

And some on here think he'll get back to his 2021-2022 form lols.

I know who I'd be trading out first and it ain't Petracca.

Pick 23 isn't going to make them foot a million + deal. We keep 23 and pay some of the Brand's deal.

Please donโ€™t call him the Brand. That was coined by the media and Tracc hates it. Regardless of what you think of Tracc, he deserves the respect of Demons fans to stop perpetuating that horrid term.

Iโ€™ll say this every single time I read this type of commentโ€ฆ Tracc HATES the term โ€˜Brand Petracca.โ€™ This term came from the media (iirc Damien Barrett) and at no point was it encouraged or embraced by Tracc or Bella or his family, ever. In fact, the term Brand Petracca makes Tracc sick. And angry. But what makes him angrier is when the term is attributed to him or someone in his camp.

Mate, you flip flop on everything.

We'll see you next week when you're screaming from the hills that we should trade Trac and blow Clarry.

Well in case you havenโ€™t noticed Smith is no longer with MFC any more.

Secondly it is agreed by most scribes and experts that Clarry was getting back to nearer his best in the last 6/7 weeks.

It b makes no sense football wise IMO with a new coach to ask or arrange for either Trac or Clarry to leave when it is a perfect opportunity for both to return to their best under Kingy.

Stephen May is different as he is older and there may be problems with some younger members of the backline that donโ€™t warm to his style of encouragement/ coaching on march days. We canโ€™t lose McVee Bowey Hores or Derksen unless Maysie is reformed or not frightening them if they make mistakes. Lever can handle that side with Tom or Petty if need be.

I love Maysie so maybe try him up forward if he is not taken by any other Club and if Rooy does not improve his marking put him back to get confidence.

Howes not Hores.

Because Trac is 30 and on the decline. If GCS was to give us 6 and Flanders Iโ€™d take it and run.

Start running but you wonโ€™t see any MFC rep with that deal from GCSuns. They donโ€™t need mids Adelaide Carlton Tigers do though.

But Flanders would be a good get no doubt if we could swing it.

Rubbish. Got smashed in the midfield by Brisbane. You need 6 to 8 players running through the midfield they only have Rowell, Anderson and Miller the rest are ordinary including Flanders. He could be a good pick up he's got youth on his side, but I wouldn't put my house on it, he could very well be a bust.

No votes in the last six to 7 weeks wishful thinking. He has serious issues that can't be wished away by a magic wand. We can't carry that burden. I'm not even worried about what picks we get for him or players we could get for him I think if we can get a club to at least pay half his wage then off you go Clarry best of luck at your new club. Petracca on the other hand I would want the world for him.

I'd say pick 10-15 in a normal year, in this years draft I'd want pick 5 for him! I imagine any deal really is based around the Crows future first as the core piece of the deal.

I couldn't disagree more with that. The academy and father son plays absolutely count even if you won't ever get them as they indicate just how strong your pick is once it has shuffled back. In what is already a weak pool it's entirely reasonable to recognise that you're sliding even deeper.

He played forward until 2020 and quite a fair bit over the last few years especially when our forward line has struggled. There's more than just a lack of goals/inaccuracy as to why I don't love his forward play. He rarely leads at the ball, he prefers to just stand and point. And he's poor defensively which is the big difference between him and Danger who flies in for tackles.

He played as a forward until 2020??? Is this a joke? He might have played forward first year but hasnโ€™t left the centre square since. Secondly, Goodwin never developed a lead up forward gameplan. Very difficult for trac to play like this when our entry into the forward line has been horrific.

The disrespect for Trac is unbelievable but if you say a bad word about Clarry you're walking on egg shells I just don't get it.

Polling 16 votes was more than I expected.

Lets see what steven king wants to do but the triumvirate of trac, clarry and viney is not a viable option anymore.

I still reckon Trac will have to play forward more similar to Danger. Viney is going to have to reinvent himself as well.

If there was a case where we the club would need to trade one to relieve cap space i have been very adamant for a long time that you trade Oliver.

Its okay though, even if it did happen I wont lay my blame at Brad Green and the board.

Oliver is the exact kind of player the Umpires love to give votes to.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

Itโ€™s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle โ€“ perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
