TMac is not your typical sub unless you are thinking injury sub.

I think they're desperate for someone to back up Max but you could be right that in view of the weather they might go small.

This game looks increasingly tough to win

frost was sub last week for dingley to allow the flexibility to throw sicily forward

in the end he came on early as worpel was crocked; didn't hurt their set-up at all

Interchange: Sharp, Billings, AJ, Lindsay

Langford or Hendo sub

If no AJ, who is second ruck?

i’m dumb

We deliberately haven’t named wings to keep GWS guessing so I expect Billings and Lindsay are first picked out of that 7.

Leaves 2 more spots at the sub.

Probably change my mind 10 more times between now and Sunday but as of right now I’d probably go Jeffo and Henderson.

Not sure Harvey is ready. AJ’s too much bulk and I just don’t want Sharp turning it over in dangerous spots (he’d be sub).

He’ll be a late out. Why risk it at the start of the season.  Stupid if he plays.

JVR can give Max some rest time if needed.

Yes injury early on, then could run a wing, play forward or back, or, Tmac to give Petty some forward time.

The struggled in the 3rd quarter and then Sicily went forward and they got their balance back. Not opposed to a tall sub but you need flexibility in the team and the right weather

B: Lever May Bowey

HB: Rivers Petty Salem

C: Langdon Viney  Windsor

HF: Henderson AJ  Sharp

F: Fritsch   JVR  Chandler

R: Gawn  Oliver Petracca

I/C Langford Sparrow Billings Lindsey

that’s what I’d go for

That's a solid team 👌

Jvr for 5 minutes a quarter doesn’t hurt him, the Giants don’t have a second ruck so if JVR is hot and Disco is cold then it can be Disco

Better question is who gives us the best impact forward especially working around the 2 bigs, Fritsch and Tracc

Doubt TMac plays either.

Look away @binman

He's still a good chance of being selected.

However, I've come to terms as evidenced by this bit from a previous post in this thread:

The other challenge we face defensively is our relative lack of leg speed.

If we don't play the deep anchor role we have traditionally used to defend turnovers (or use it less often -or perhaps set not as deep) our defenders have to have the wheels to get back when we turn it over. And we are not blessed with speed.

On that front I've been very bullish that tmac plays, but perhaps Howes gets the nod as he is considerably quicker than tmac. And I've no doubt this a big factor in Windsor going back.

Dub I think you're on the wine or something. No way is Langdon the sub

Hendo is a risk of what he can bring right now but the way I see it is, if it’s raining a lot you’ll get 50% from our talls especially Turner so might as well get 50% from a small haha

who do you have as second ruck PF?

Keefe against Gawn should be tasty

Gawn will teach him how to work around the ground

Very small chance Giants risk Green with a calf. they would be mad.

We’ll win this!

I thought he was serviceable against Norf, I was surprised they didn't play him against Freo. But I'd be even more surprised if they backflipped again and played Jeffo ahead of AJ given Johnson looked pretty solid.

Especially with the conditions predicted

That centre line looks powerful. Stuff premierships are built around.

Frost is a completely different player.

Are you quoting yourself big fella?

With the way even the Giants saying "Green is a potential in" on their social media, I'm pretty confident he won't end up playing.

Jvr chop out as GWS dont have anything of note!

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
