Agreed

FWIW Rhino is a good journo, so I donโ€™t doubt heโ€™s genuinely reporting what heโ€™s heard from his sources

But youโ€™d be naive to think this is anything but an attempt to appease the club and kick the can down the road

Houston said he wasnโ€™t leaving and we know how that ended upโ€ฆ where thereโ€™s smoke thereโ€™s fire

I'm not happy about it cos it means we'll lose Kozzy for nothing and get Jackson back for him who we don't really need considering Max is still the best in the comp.

Just how many years do you think are left in Max??โ€ฆ I give him one or two (tops) as his body is starting to show the strain of pretty much carrying the entire team for so long. We are going to need a new number 1 ruck, and that sure as hell will not come from the next draft.

Clarry and our future 1st for Dogga

If he goes there will be trouble.

But if he stays there will be double.

Also Tom Barass.

Rinse and repeat

Dogga has 15 weeks left, plus any finals Freo make. He doesn't want to be booed for 15 weeks. That's all this is. We'll see you soon, LJ.

It's May so of course they have to tow the line for now to kill the trade talk.

In my opinion I think this is a huge watch this space.

Unfortunately, with the lack of a first round pick this year, the only way I see this getting done is through the loss of one of Pickett/Oliver/Petracca.

Hopefully our trading team have a few creative solutions in mind that don't involve the loss of any of the above.

I think that his manager just pouring as much cold water as possible so it doesn't become a huge talking point throughout the season.

I can see this becoming a huge distraction on Jackson on field.

Worth noting that Ryan Daniels is famously a Freo propaganda journalist. He says whatever the club tells him to say. His words mean very little in the scheme of things.

Might have to add Fritsch to that list.

yep its the sort of thing you'd say once you have told the club you want to leave. It does mainly two things: 1) stops the speculation and constant distractions 2) tries to level the trade negotiations as a player wanting out is seen as a weaker hand.

Rucks are becoming less important in the modern game. Many coaches don't care too much about the ruck, they're happy to break even. I don't read replies or reactions

Absolutely complete bollocks.

The last club that could remotely be said about is the tigers back in 2017 and the blues sround the same time.

Terrority is just too critical to not worry about the ruck.

Why? Donโ€™t we have future picks to play with?

PR 101 for LJ

He canโ€™t play the whole season with people thinking he will leave

Refute the claims Houston style

But I reckon heโ€™ll be with us next year

We need to work out away of keeping kossi, and getting Jackson back, offering 2 future first plus a fringe player( maybe Mcvee ) would be the perfect outcome.

I'm starting to come around to this way of thinking. I've long been anti-ruck, but I think you're spot on.

Unless of course you bring +2 or 3 to the stoppage to out number.

Overall I think rucks are overrated and the last three premiers have all had below average rucks in the grand final. Not saying the clubs didnโ€™t worry about rucks though

But I think rucks like LJ and TDK are incredibly important in the modern game. They are probably two of the most important players at their clubs and I would love either of them at Melbourne.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
