Of course we don’t pay you @Ghostwriter. It’s missing shiiite like this that is holding you back. And let’s face it, reporting on hairdos, nicknames, players aunties’ cousins and girlfriends is “unique” and a good “filler”, but has only limited appeal (I like it but some don’t). But it’s scoops like Petts missing todays game that has wide spread appeal, and would greatly enhance your brand and probably place you on the payroll - just as @picket fence is. Picket’s reporting has universal appeal (and I mean galaxy wide appeal), hence his significant retainer. So as I said previously GW, please lift your game

Come on FD, I’m trying to be serious and you are taking the pizz. Not helpful.

I thought Picket Fence was paid specifically as a slithera early warning system, and it was tax deductible as a public health expenditure?

Petty will be missing the game because on the flight over he parachuted out of the plane to visit home, thinking he'd just get an Uber in the morning because Perth is basically 'the next town over'.

I did something similar once, thinking Jan Juc / Torquay was a viable morning train trip away from Richmond.

The Freo fwd line is so much better than ours

They will smash some teams

Aaaanyhow..

My number one wish to come out of today's practice match is simply no injuries. Still gutted for AMW after it literally happened with minutes to go at the end of the game.

I've been watching all the practice games over the last few days and it's been absolutely carnage with all the injuries.

Fingers crossed.

If you call that being serious you should have a dam good look at yourselfđŸ€Ł

Really looking forward to seeing XL & Langford again

And especially keen to see the look of Salem after a strong preseason

Disco to kick 6

Currently 27 degrees in Mandurah with a predicted maximum of 35.

It will be a warm one. Wind does not appear to be a factor

I’m really looking forward to this game. It will be a great opportunity for our boys to shed some of the inevitable early season rust, and it should give us supporters some genuine insights into the Dees of 2025.
No injuries is, of course, an imperative!
Unlike some Demonlanders who have said that the scoreboard is unimportant, I really want a win.  Beating a quality side on the road, will be the perfect builder of confidence and self belief to kick start the new season.
Go Dees!  ❀ 💙

Agree with all of that
and as it was Fremantle who pretty much destroyed our season 2024, inflicting two thrashings on us in rounds 12 and 19
practice match or not, we need to show them that they don’t own us.

Surely no one on Here qualifies for mensa

is that a men’s only S.A. club ?

If its 35 at game time, I would be seeking agreement to shorten quarters and play all of the emergencies on a rotation basis to give more breaks.

The result of a good vindaloo?

I'm not entirely sure what exactly are you talking about?

If you're asking if todays game is televised then yes, it is.

It'd be preferable. But if Freo thrash us in the next 5 real matches even if we beat them by 30 goals in each pre-season match during that dominance it'll mean nothing. (That said good team and player performance today is preferable.)

Yes, but we need to start somewhere, for our own belief, and a practice match is as good a time as any 😊

Meant to be around 29 degrees at the start time. Mandurah is a bit cooler than Perth as it’s about 45 mins south

Due to the heat expected to reach 35, does that mean we'll be able scrap the subs so that both teams can maximise rotations?

Not only that, although he's a good mark.. he always slows down the play after marking, and kicking is not so reliable ..Looks as if theyre wanting to move the ball faster now. Seems 2023 was beginner's luck...a bit flukey and when expectations rose he couldn't produce.

Jessie is FF for GWS. He will play our first game I reckon.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
