The Brand is the ultimate professional. I’ve absolutely no doubt he’ll perform to incredibly high standards again this year. The difference is he’s had a long lay off, his body should be relatively fresh. He’s also at his absolute prime. I’m expecting huge things from him this year. Think the last quarter against Carlton but on a near weekly basis. He’s going to be pretty damn close to unstoppable in 25. He’s the main reason I’m expecting us to bounce back hard.

    What our team has experienced together, the mighty lows and mighty highs can't help but leave an indelible mark and create a special bond.  Sometimes it takes a catastrophe to realise it is relationships and sharing is what matters.  Sounds like Trac is in that space. 

    It won't be long before team mates embrace him again and hopefully so do dees fans.

    From what I see he’s at a point where he’s been welcomed back into the fold by all (teammates). It appears to have happened in stages because again, they’re human, so some were quicker to embrace him than others. There may well be a couple who need more time but if so they’re certainly not showing it; not like those first couple of sessions where he came over from AAMI to Gosch’s and back again, alone. If not alone, with a staff member. He walked with his head down and you could cut the air with a knife so to speak. It’s no wonder he was nervous.

    It will be the same with fans I guess. I’m lucky in that I get to speak with him and that he now talks openly and from the heart. It’s gonna take some time to convince others in the DA who felt the way I did that he’s a changed man. But he’s worth every effort because he’s the bigger person now. It takes a special kind of human being to own his mistakes and strive to atone.

    Exactly. Mid 70ts Rythm and Blues with a chunky rock groove! I have been seeking this and a few others by the same group for years but have unearthed zero!🤯

    top bloke. workin down here, says he’s making his family proud. no doubt

    Tracc stuck me as a big energetic kid, like an Alaksan malamute puppy, whereas Langford is more a Doberman pinscher pup.

    From what I've heard Harvey is more mature than Tracc now.

    You have possibly misunderstood or misinterpreted my comment but it is true (generally)if you can’t train ( before a game) you really can’t be fit enough to play.

    Many would say in a Thursday night is the time of reckoning. 

    That’s what I was inferring.

    That said, everyone matures at different rates and perhaps tracc has some personal growth opportunities.

    Tracc is a natural on field leader, both in terms of his voice and actions

    I wonder if having an infusion of young gun mids might help tracc develop his off field leadership, something that can only be a positive for him and his teammates.

    Trac had a range of issues in his early career, think it was actually a broken toe from playing basketball that caused him to miss a chunk of the preseason.

    He also had a fairly underwhelming start to his career and would drift in and out of games. He has been on record as saying he wasn't acting like a professional at times, however from 2020 onwards he has been an absolute professional.

    It was one of the reasons I was disappointed with him last year, he seems to have forgotten the amount of time and work the MFC have put into developing him into the player he is today. Yes, a lot of it is due to his work ethic now but the club definitely helped him to work through issues early in his career.

    Yeah, you're right, he broke his toe playing basketball in his backyard.

    Harvey probably completed a risk analysis of all non football activity when he was 12 and long ago ruled out backyard basketball.

    iirc Roos wouldn't select him for his carelessness delaying his debut game and (I think) Trac played at Casey. 

    Discipline/standards/tough love?  It was a bit of a lesson I suspect.

    I think he'd probably argue he's paid the club back in spades, given his Norm Smith winning hand in our premiership. No matter what Champion Data say, I still consider him the first player to have had 40 disposals in a GF (plus 2 goals).

    I was also disappointed with how he handled things last year, but not sure he owes the club that much anymore, except for ensuring we get the best return for him if he still wants to leave.

      A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

      The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder.       What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around.It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
