We are subject to the other clubs picks but should know the top 3 choices at least  which would only leave pick 4,  6,7 and 8. Ignoring father son picks.

We should get two very good footballers

I swear, he had more running bounces in that footage than our entire team for 2024.

I'm not even kidding, and they weren't pointless bounces either.

That and the collection of sharp passes on aggressive instincts make it very easy to want him running around on the attacking half of the ground. 

There was one pass were he centred the ball with an ambitious kick to his own CHB area. It worked out okay but I felt my hair fall out as he did it! So, yeah, attacking side for my sanity's sake.

Langford looks a beast. You’d be hard to complain if ends up a Demon.

Agreed, but hard to predict risers/sliders and who picks who. Yet I continue to read these threads daily.

Langford at pick 5 for me, and by a fair margin.

Just hope he’s still there.

Seeing several Phantom’s that consistently have Lalor, Tauru, Ashcroft, FOS and Draper taken with the picks before ours so I hope it pans out that way on Draft night.

I don’t have a strong opinion regarding pick 9. I’ll trust that Taylor will nail the pick like he usually does whether it be best available mid, fwd or def.

I think we need to get a centre square midfielder out of one of the two picks (probably pick 5). There are options available and I'd probably choose either Smith or Langford (assuming Lalor and O'Sullivan aren't available). They're very different types of centre square midfielder, so it'd be a difficult choice. I tend to think that the last few flags have been won by fleet footed running midfields, so I'd likely err on the side of Smith. I'm not a big Draper fan and Smilie scares me, so I'd consider going a different direction (Tauru/Armstrong) if they weren't available.

As for pick 9, I think we need a bit of a 'difference maker' up forward because they're difficult to find. I'm not dogmatic about the style of forward difference maker, as it could be a big forward, a powerful medium or a clever small. We just need players that can turn small advantages into scores. Armstrong is one, but so is Hynes (who would both complement a JVR/Jeffo combination), and even Reid or Hotton as a high half forward that can turn small advantages into goals.

I agree, the early training reports where our recruits are playing day 1 next year, and they are the saviour of the club,  they just allow me to survive till the new year,

I love him, beautiful kick. Realistically it should be both in consideration for pick 9. But if we took both and swapped them mid and forward I’d be delighted

Prior to his official phantom draft he posts a few days before the draft, he usually posts a November form guide a week or two before the draft which is his rankings but includes a “where they could go” section for each player which the club links are usually pretty spot on. Would assume it would be coming out tomorrow or Wednesday in line with his weekly gettable show.

Cal will post his draft on Monday 18/11/24.

I.dont understand mate. You want a centre square midfielder but you'd pick a tall like Tauru or Armstrong?

Hotton reminds me of Ed Curnow, a lot. Probably more talented though. Ed did play a lot of games though and get the best out of himself.

I’d want one with one of our two top 10 picks. If we didn’t get one with our first early pick then I’d target one with the second. It appears highly unlikely the cards would fall in a way where I wouldn’t select one with pick 5 though.

The Curnow comparison is pretty superficial. It's more the way he moves than the way he plays. He's a dynamic half forward, so very unlike Ed Curnow.

I dont know enough about the various players to pick a name.

I think our first pick needs to be someone along the lines of Petracca/Viney/Oliver.

Our other pick should be someone similar to Neal-Bullen.
