Not bidding on Sam Marshall with either 5 or a second first round pick will be part of the trade value for Brisbane. I really like him and would love to bid with a pick in the 9-11 range.

I doubt this deal will happen quickly.

We need to secure that extra first rounder if we can.

Brisbane need to do a deal with Richmond for pick 20 out and a stack of picks worth points in.

Then we'll probably look to do some kind of trade where we give them 40, 49, 54, 65 in return for 32 and Sharp.

He was pick 43 in the 2020 draft on the brissy website. We lost Jordan and got pick 39 from Sydney for him. So figure it will be around this mark or as articles say a combination of later picks.

we got a compensation second round pick for jj - he left as a free agent, not as a trade

He’s a good runner and competes. Could fill the half forward or half back role.  I’m a Yes. Pick 54 seems about right.
Probably deal could include us not bidding on Sam Marshall as a gentleman’s agreement 🤔

Once we don't give up too much this is a very clever pick up

He looks pretty pumped in that picture to be coming over!

Has played 16 games over 4 years included 6 as sub

Lions have the best depth in the league so no shame in that

Great left-field moneyball pick up

Please explain the moneyball aspect to this recruitment?

Hope that Derksen is still on the cards too. Both of them could wind up failures like Fullarton, but at least it'd be positive to get in some players that are young but not 18yo.

With Campbell and sharp as possible ins, how many more spots do we have?
would have to think this closes the door on derksen, and squishes the chances down of yze and mentha both getting a gig.

Below average in every stat which is a little concerning.

Yes he can run but no point being an elite runner when you cannot get the ball.

Brown, Brayshaw, Hunter, ANB, Schache out so far.

Likely: J Smith? Tomlinson?

Possible: Hore? Oliver?

At least 7, could be 9 out. Plus Cat B rookie KFW.

3 ins: Kentfield (r), Campbell, Sharp

Still 4-6 spots plus cat B. Mentha is cat B at best IMO.

4 good picks in the national draft, Yze or another rookie maybe, Derksen or some other mature player (perhaps Hore).

18, 13 (both wing), 12 (half forward) in his 3 full games this year, averages about 20 touches in his VFL games.

It’s not his strength but I don’t think he’ll struggle to get the ball.

Hopefully forms part of getting their 1st rd pick

Would potentially have to give up our FF1 plus 2024 picks to get 20; Tigers have a better hand to offer Bris for pick 20

Mitch Cleary reporting that the Harry Sharp deal will happen soon.

Hope we can get Sharp and 32 for our combo of late stuff (whilst also keeping flexibility to get a future 1 and a late throw at the stumps for the Derka)

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
