Disappointed that this isn’t a full external review as initially reported but I do think there are contract and soft cap concerns if we were to make mass changes in our administration (had a fully external review called for this)

And at the end of the day it is the FD that is responsible for our on field performance and I’m glad that this will be the primary focus of the review, as for better or worse it is clearly the area that will dictate our performance in 2025 more than any other

I agree that if it isn't a full external review its disappointing but don't agree that the FD is solely responsible for on-field performance.

Fitness and injuries are critical. Our injury management has been poor since the end of 2021.  If you send players out to play that are unfit or injured then either they don't perform to the standard (ie our entire team from mid 2022) or exacerbate the injury and miss lots of time (ala Clarry, Spargo etc).  A review absolutely should include our medical/fitness departments and the CEOs role in resourcing and managing those departments.  If the CEO does the review it will be a whitewash.

Agree this is more a Claytons Review if it also involves current personnel, but at least its a start!

Apologies as I might have missed some information among all the posts - It's quite hard to keep up with everything - but where has it been reported it's not a fully external review? From what I have heard, Darren Shand will have full control of the process. Has someone said otherwise?

Jay Clark and Tom Morris have reported that Pert and Green will conduct the review alongside Shand

Thanks for passing that on, I've missed that in the pile. I'm not sure I would take that in the same way others have - It wouldn't be a surprise they're involved would it? They're both in charge of key areas. I don't think it would necessarily mean they have control over it as such. I do believe Darren Shand will have autonomy.

Obviously the President and CEO have to have a role in the process. Who would we like to oversee the process? Bozo the Clown.

Let's see how it progresses before jumping to unnecessary conclusions.

We have just had our dirty laundry aired out in the public eye for the last 3 months, and you want an external review containing all our flaws send to McClure and Morris for more punishment??

You want any findings completely buried again, like last time? Professional reports for public consumption don’t engage in witch hunts, denigrating individuals or airing dirty linen, they identify areas needing improvement & set out specific actions to achieve improvement.

Let's see the TOR before we judge thus Pert and Green being a part is not a good look. Shand could be a sham!It doesn't stack up as an external review in my view

Your confusion comes from the fact that the Club has said nothing officially.....

Haha.

Perhaps. But given the club has said nothing officially it could also be said that the continuous negative comments about what it entails and how it's setup are perhaps premature as well.

Announcing green and Pert as part of the EXTERNAL review is enough for me to remain negative

Pert and Green are always going to have some involvement. I don't think they would be running it or interfering to any extent.

We shouldn't be releasing the findings or recommendations publicly. implement the changes and get on with winning the 2025 flag.

According to Morris on SEN we are having an external review

Morris will also confirm later that he has heard rumours that the band is , in fact , up him, despite previous uncertainty.

That hasn't been announced, it's been reported by journalists. You're waiting for the TOR I thought?

But the media always tell the truth!!!

I see Michael Warner is having another crack.

AFL HQ have to be at least somewhat on board with the media's continued attack, as they like to control everything, including shutting down unfavourable stories about certain other clubs.

I love that people on here seem to think what's going on at the club but cannot tell me with facts and they just assume they know, and you know what that assume means? I'll wait for the results.

What results you mean of the review? You will be waiting  a long time and it will say nothing

Hope you don't get too disappointed

This from a club who resisted any review and is defensive rather than transparent

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
