I have previously been totally agnostic to these board discussions, but  as another poster  mentioned in the Tomlinson thread, IF, IF, IF she actually said to a gathering “…At aNSWDemons event some 2 years ago, where Roffey was a guest speaker, she stated that “you don’t win finals with players like Tomlinson, he won’t be picked”.   then she needs to walk tomorrow.

Divisive, unsupportive of players, and sticking her nose into footy matters when she can’t find us a home, which was her selling point.    Like Kamala Harris, who was given one job, securing the Mexico border, Roffey was given one job, finding us a home.  FAIL FAIL FAIL.

I think demonland is better if we don’t bring US (or any) political figures in for the purposes of analogies tbh.

Faction.    One definition is contentious and self seeking.

Or do you mean hearsay

I mean a wide variety of people who had dealings with him from the markering team, to the coterie, to the sponsors.

People don't like somebody who is charming to them when it suits and ignores them completely when it doesn't.

I haven't heard he has done this at Melbourne, infact, i've heard employees speak highly of him but make no mistake he left a sour taste at Collingwood across a range of people and bodies he should have engaged better with

Plenty of well connected Melbourne people [censored] off that he "Works from home" in Noosa too much

I didn't know that, if that is true then he has to go asap, how could the board vote him in and let this happen.

A CEO living interstate, F me drunk.

What the [censored] has Kamala Harris got to do with it? Ludicrous analogy.

Unfortunately there won’t be any fans watching if we play the same bland defensive and slow game plan. 8 goals doesn’t win any ( many) games of footy in 2025.

We need a positive leader and offensive attitude to attract fans who will get excited by the date and speed of our footy.

If we don’t change Coaches and attitudes the Clib will go backwards.

I tend to agree. Melbourne play a dull, defensive game. No wonder we can't generate crowds.  Similarly Goodwin's pressers are stupefyingly dull. Much of the time is spent praising the opposition. It's woeful.

Overall, the club is always on the defensive. Very good article on this in today's Guardian, by Jonathan Horn.  Very good writer, about the only one covering AFL.

I dunno about Pert Or Kate, but the club is leaking information like a siv atm.  And if they aren't finding how and dealing with it, then they are the issue.

Club can't continue under this scrutiny, front up to the media, lay down your cards and start again.  Gain everyone's trust again and hold people accountable, starting from the CEO down!

Roffey on SEN at 10:30… will be a Warnie like performance of spin!

Roffey to speak on SEN at 10.30 this morning.

What do ya know, noise getting to loud now!

It was funny listening to Mike Sheehan on SEN this morning when Whately mentioned she was coming on, to which he replied tongue-in-cheek “Is she back from her sabbatical already?”.

We are not alone in thinking her absence isn’t a great reflection on her duties as the president.

It's not Geelong, he won't miss.

I would like to know how much the club has paid in legal expenses since she has been president

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
