Some of his kicking to advantage inside 50 yesterday was just sublime. The sky is the limit for him as he builds his fitness levels.

If we saw fit to give Tholstrup a contract to 2028 last year, we should be looking to extend Langford to about 2040.

He’s a big unit, doesn’t need ten years at Casey taking learnings on board.

Goes no.1 in most other drafts.

As close to the full package as we've had in a while. Not just a great kick technically but a smart kick in the way he puts it to advantage.

Super quick thinker as well, I just love having him on our team.

Agreed. Thought his game yesterday was fantastic and the most complete performance by him so far. Creative with his disposal, stands up in tackles, good decision maker, raking left foot. From memory he had at least 3 direct goal assists yesterday and was unlucky not to be paid a mark in the pocket which would have seen him shooting for his own snag. Somehow still going under the radar in the footy media. He was called the wrong name three times in the commentary yesterday and then in the club interview they robbed him of three touches saying he had 21!

Anyway I just reckon he’s a gun. It’s often hilarious when they compare young draftees to players who are the top 1% of what a player can become, but he does seem to have the potential to be the full package like the Bont.

lalor looks a jet, o'sullivan is super smooth, smith has been injured, draper looks good, and levi ashcroft looks like a gem

very, very happy with langford at pick 6, not to mention lindsay at pick 11

Might end up one of the best top 10 drafts

O'Sullivan is overrated.

Seen nothing to suggest he was a top 5 talent.

100% agree. Love how he always has a quick look around before he receives the ball to assess his next move - knows when to tackle and very good and protecting the drop of the ball (whether a handball or kick). Huge fan.

Closest I’ve seen in style to the Bont since the great man was drafted

A bit of Dawson about him too

Reckon we got him for an absolute bargain at pick 6

I honestly could not be more happy with his season to date. He’s everything I’d dreamed we see, and more.

Can’t wait to see what he can do off a full pre-season.

Yep, but played fewer than ten games so still eligible for this year.

He'd be a worthy runner up to Harvey.

Realistically, how many players in the comp can spot that handpass to Chandler, and also nail it? That's just one of his brilliant displays today. Kid's a star.

Unfortunately for us Melbourne supporters, a lot.

But great to have a player who can hit a handball like that under pressure.

We need more of them. Making the right decision and executing under pressure more often than not. The best teams in the comp have several players like that and we need more.

That’s BS. Has an extra pre season under his belt. has an unfair advantage.

What more can we say Harvey Langford is even better than we hoped for, he’s come on quicker than expected and he helps make us a better team, cant think of another youngster that I would rather have at MFC than Harv.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
