Further "slipping" is BS though because the F/S and Academy players that make that happen aren't freely available to us anyway so our position in the open draft remains the same.

Yes the FA compensation for Battle, Perryman and Cumming did legitimately push the pick back 3 spots.

Looks like the Graham FA compensation might push it back 1 more pick if it's band 2 or 3.

Just heard band 4 for Grahamย

Presser for the crows.

What a class individual, absolutely respectful way to answer the questions about your former club.

Nice!

Not stoked with 28 but had to take it. Let's hope we can use it to get something higherย

Crows fans would be pretty excited by that presser I reckon. Exudes class, humility and experience throughout.

Cornes seems to delight in bagging the MFCย

The other more mature interpretation of this trade is the the MFC is doing the right thing by a loyal and highly respected member of their team that has given 10 years serviceย

Any comparison with the trade done for McAdam seems rather irrelevant to meย

Can we close this thread Admin?

Cornes is absolutely spot on here, and anyone who puts this down to a media bashing has way too much faith in the club.ย
ย

Iโ€™m all for accommodating a family request but the club at every right to tell ANB he signed a deal, and we will only let go for maximum value.ย
ย

He is more valuable to us as a player, then the pick he his worth in a trade

ย

a straight swap for a bloke who canโ€™t kick 25 meters is pretty much where our list management is at right ย now

If it is, then that same pick for McAdams is an absolute howler from the clubย

ย

I know it's traditional (one of the more miserable and dull traditions) to boo players who change clubs, but is it too much to dream of being seven goals up in the final quarter and Nibbler gets to line up for a set shot in front of the Demon Army all singing "And Iiiiiiiiiii-eeeeIiiiiiiieeeeiiiiรฌiii will always love youuuuuuuu-oooooooo-ooooo"

And you just know he'd be laughing too hard to kick straight.

@WalkingCivilWarย how's your singing voice?

two different trades. One where we thought it would be pick 38. Def a howler still

ANB trade wasnโ€™t done based off McAdam. Fair deal

Well itโ€™s this, clearly. Obviously the club thought itโ€™d be more like pick 35 than 25 but even still, it shouldโ€™ve been a 3rd or future 3rd for a 28 year old whoโ€™d only played 50 games and been in and out of his previous side.

Reckon the ANB valueโ€™s about spot on.

Personally, I can never see trades in raw terms like this, there are too many variables and it ignores context. We needed a player like McAdam to cover for the absence of Melksham and loss of Bedford. I'm not sure who else was available, but if this is what it cost to fill that hole, so be it.

The issue with McAdam isn't so much his ability but the fact that he seems to be injury-prone. Fingers crossed for a better second year with us.

Fill that hole? He played 3 games mate. With the output he gave us me or you couldโ€™ve filled that hole. Thereโ€™s absolutely no way you could justify the trade at the time, and especially so in hindsight.

Iโ€™m not as down on Tim Lamb as some, but itโ€™s certainly an enormous blot on his copybook.

McAdam was ready to go and would have played towards the end of the year but they preferred Melksham which is fair enough. It's a pity he couldn't get going earlier when Melksham was unavailable.

He'll likely get an opportunity with Kossie suspended for the first 3 matches next year.

ANB gone opens another spot in the forward 7 or 8 rotation, McAdam won't play that role but it will lead to a role shuffle for Chandler, Kolt and Spargo which will open some role possibilities for him.

Let's hope he can take it. He can play and offers some decent forward pressure.

I agree

Melksham came in and won that role

McAdam can play, just needs to get his body right. Big 2025

You canโ€™t compare it to free agents and both Perryman and Battle are supposedly on 800- 900k a year. ย ANB would not be on anything near thisย

OK, this is a stupid question - is salary related to the pick they get in exchange?ย  Honest question. If so, isn't it odd that a club that is paying too much for a player gets rewarded for it?ย
