Can someone confirm whether she said:

"She hadn't talked to Trac's family"

or

"She hadn't spoken to Trac"

Big difference.....

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

The media is determined to bring Melbourne down , no matter what is said or inferred.

They will create their own spin based on their own pre judgement.

We are on a hiding to nothing and sometimes the less said the better.

Kate fronted the media, probably because of the multitude of calls to end the silence, but it looks like it has backfired on her.

I don’t think she will be doing it again anytime soon.

Keep them guessing and don’t honour them with a response.

The only one who should be making their position clear in all this is Trac himself.

Well spoken.  Wow,are there some drama queens on here!

These conversations have absolutely taken place, but it sounds like she was neither involved nor informed of them.

Or perhaps she was, and doesn't want to speak about what was said, which if that is the case, she has no idea how to speak publicly.

Very easy to say "we have had conversations around this, we apologized to Christian and anyone in his life who felt they were not looked after properly, and put measures in place to ensure it does not happen again. However I will not be divulging the rest of the conversation as I am mindful of its private nature". End.

As I keep saying over and over again, it's not what you say but how you say it.
This PR disaster speaks to so many people who just have no understanding of how you manage a brand!

She isn't doing the club any favours saying conversations have yet to be had when they have.

If she hasn't been informed is appalling.  If she has and isn't telling fine say so, and your suggested words are excellent.

That was going to be my question. Im not close to the club in this sense, but i suppose it doesn't have to be a club person. Do we have a go at luring Graham Wright as a club CEO from the Pies - has massive wraps.

No idea for President though. Do they usually go to "Melbourne" people or anyone that has great board credentials.

President should be a Melbourne person, and not one of those "I'll join as a way to get on the board" like the last couple.

But above all, they need to a strong leader and lead by example. Someone who has the guts to call out behaviour that is not acceptable, someone who will keep the CEO accountable, someone who will protect all stakeholders including members, players, staff etc and someone who will protect the brand of the football club.

Someone like Steven Smith would be perfect if he was available.

To me it sounded like she hadn't spoken to either be it in the aftermath of the injury or since.

For most of us expressing dismay it is the lack of care and support in in the aftermath of the injury ie the ICU time, that is most concerning.

When did she say that?

Really ?? How many club presidents could you name if put on the spot? In the last few months Wright  has left Collingwood after taking a sabbatical directly after the GF..one reason..Kelly.. there has been serious racial allegations against Kelly ..where has that disappeared too. Noble has asked for a trade (not expected by the Pies & a couple of their depth/young players are exploring their options. Now admittedly it’s not a Trac but we have 1 disgruntled player who unfortunately is a superstar & all of a sudden we’re a basket case. Oliver was last year & preseason ..have nothing but respect for how he’s handled  himself this season.  Maybe read the latest “bombshell “ where allegedly some Melb players were discussing Trac & called him weird and wondered how another club would deal with his “weirdness “. Get your next post ready to heap blame on the club again ..

In her interview..in fairness (which of course wasn’t mentioned) she has reached out but has had no response..

Tracc you are contracted to play for us for 5 more years we are loyal to you pay your medicals for you and help and support you while you get better. Now you kick us the teeth

And while everyone is looking at another player of ours being incessantly attacked by the Media, the same group are, behind the scenes  making sure that our equal best player, who they well know to be easy to deceive, is conned into thinking that he  hasn't been looked after. There is so much more to this that has to come out. I would include Taylor in this along with the muppets and don't ever forget Moore.

Please explain

It's all very well calling for the heads of everyone (and don't get me wrong... I agree), but who is going to step up? Who has the profile, personality and skills to take on those roles.

Judging by the feedback in other discussions, Demonland members already have issues with Peter Lawrence and what has happened. So who's next ? Who's willing to put their hand up?

Like any other organization, nominate candidates and let the members vote and not one where the club is telling you who they want on the board.

There are plenty of great operators who are members of the MFC. They don't have to be ex-footballers to be on the board (Brad Green ffs).

And did she also say that she had reached out, but hasn’t heard back?

It’s not her job to speak directly to trac. There’s a football department and there are well being specialists, career specialists, psychologists, etc. It’s also possible they’ve decided that it’s best not to overwhelm the guy too. If the whole club decide to call him at once that’s probably not great either.

You reckon our football department hasn’t already done a lot of that planning throughout the season and continue to do so? Many people are turning up to work and doing their job at the club still despite the media also doing theirs.

Robbo certainly knows a lot about weirdness

The last line of the article "Work needs to be done, and it won’t be easy, and despite all the weirdness, the odds of Petracca playing at Melbourne next year are better than what they were a week ago"

A football club is huge. Talking to trac is one thing. Talking to his family is another. Who the [censored] talks to an employees family? Maybe she’s happy to let people do their jobs. Hire good people, let them do their job. Simple stuff.
