If you thought Tom Scully was hated amongst Melbourne fans, imagine the response if this does eventuate....

I'm also curious about the response he will get if it doesn't.

He can't change what's happened and been said.

This is all pure speculation but given how hard he is driving for this outcome, despite his almost impossible situation, I imagine the Petracca family are 100% in support of what he is doing. I feel all it would take would be one person he respected or admired to say, "Are you sure you're doing the right thing, Christian?" and he would relent. But any moral argument to honour his contract would be countered by something along the lines of, "They almost killed you, Christian!"

I'm sure the Club has reached out to the family, but if the Petraccas are still too aggrieved, then perhaps someone outside the Club like Garry Lyon could be convinced to play a peacemaker role. (Again, pure speculation - I'm not trying to blame the family. Don't yell at me, admins.)

I assume that's why he's staying silent, some plausible deniability?

G'day fellow members 🤙

I haven't posted here for years but today I feel the need, possibly just as a coping mechanism 🤷

1. The more I hear, the angrier I get 🤬

2. Christian "Simmons" you can bugger off right at this point 👉 🚪

3. $cully 2.0

I don't care what others think!

This is me as of right now 🖕

On the nuclear option this is a very risky choice as it goes both ways. ALL relevant facts from both parties will need to be tabled and investigated, and then the most likely outcome would be to force a trade to address the grievance (a bottom. 4 club will meet this).

The trade only needs to satisfy the grievance, not the want!

Surely the nuclear option could only pry him away from the demons.  It couldn't also make sure he lands at Collingwood or Carlton?

I don't mind this option if it means he goes to the club that welcomes him and is capable of providing market proven compensation to Melbourne.

That's how mediation works in the real world.

LOL, point taken, but it is directly relevant to the Petracca/Trade/Carlton vortex that just emerged out of the blue in the last day or so. Martin out frees up cap space. Not sure if a Tracc to Carlton trade can be made but it is potentially possible, no way near as unrealistic as Tracc to Collingwood (which would be horrible).

If I’m getting the tone of your posts right, you are a little too excited about this issue.

Id prefer you attacking Trac and everything to do with Trac. Just like everyone on here 😂😝

Im also assuming you are a new friend with Trac on Insta. You know I’m right  here….

Also, no one cares about Ashton Smashton Moir. He irrelevant to us Demonlanders.

Good day Sir 🤩😂

I'm not sure the Trac Family is a #1 fan of Garry's at the moment after his last two diatribes on On the Couch.

I would bring in Gus, but of course that's solely dependant on how he's feeling and his ability to be the mediator.

Maybe it's time Trac talked to someone who lost everything through an injury that the club hold no responsibility for, so he can understand how lucky he is to still have the ability to pull on the red and the blue.

We all feel sad and horrified for what Trac went through, but it is no less horrible, nor will it have the same lifelong impact that Gus' injury has had. One has acted with nothing but complete respect and love for our club, and one has not.

1. Petracca was told EARLY by his management he can't leave, it can't be done. He still pushed the issue.

3. He's been told by Melbourne they will not trade him under any circumstances, he's still pushing the issue.

He knows it can't be done, and the only option from here is to work through things BUT HE IS STILL instead trying to force a way out the club.

His teammates are pretty sick of it, and I don't blame them.

Melbourne would trade him if the right offer came along, mainly because of how fed up the players are with his antics, but will not approach clubs with offers to make it known they'd be open to trading him.

Petracca's own management has also told him it's time to be leader and his behaviour is costing the club the ability to approach other players, and he's still acting like a prat

I have no doubt they would discuss it.
They have a gigantic portfolio of some of the best players in the league. They would not be taking kindly to the time consuming circus that Trac has created, nor will their other clients be very pleased that they are being pushed aside while this drama is going on.

It is also further complicated by the fact that his brother works there.

I can imagine it would sour relations between them and MFC too, not to mention the AFL as a whole, which is bad for business

If the rumours of his salary are correct we are in a world of hurt even if he goes. No club will take on that sort of contract without us paying some of it.

Problem is I reckon we'll be in more trouble if he stays after all the damage he's done and disharmony caused throughout the playing group, club and supporters.

Definitely against any payment of his salary !  Surely there is a "non performance" clause

Most certainly.

I think they would be working overtime to appease the club behind the scenes, as we have always had a good working relationship with them, and overall are an 'easy' club to deal with at the trade table.

I am also sure they would be working overtime to try and get Trac off the ledge. It just doesn't seem like he's listening to them.

No self respecting management team would be advising him to do any of this.

It’s one thing I’ve never really understood in all of this. How involved mummy and daddy are. I get it they’re a close Italian family and that’s wonderful.

But he’s almost 30. When I have a performance review or career discussion or even a workplace injury my manager doesn’t call my mum. I’m an adult.

Apparently he was out yesterday with the boys having drinks.

How much has changed in the last 24 hours is anyone's guess.

Im not sure this is actually true. Is it really - i thought those images were fake? i cant imagine anyone doing whatever Trac is to come within 50m of the playing group. He simply would not be welcomed unless his future was certain with the club one way or another and things were amicable. Right now that is far from the truth.

i.e. you would have to nominate the national draft at which point he goes to Richmond or North or even back to us as we are both before Pies and Blues.

There has been a ridiculous amount if speculation re Tracc yet all we know is that his injury was traumatic and he has only recently been comfortable enough to talk to his teammates about it.  Everything else is speculation by the media stating unnamed sources and we know how often they get it wrong. Personally I wouldn't get too excited until Tracc, his Manager or the club say something.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
