I distinctly remember a few posters here calling for that early in his career. We (self included) can get a little frustrated and impatient with a player's development at times. I keep reminding myself, I'm a SUPPORTER and why I don't listen to people like Kane Cornes.

He seems to benefit from having a direct opponent.

Agree, previously he's looked a little lost in play, struggling to get involved - tbf he's just a kid barely 20 games in and that's not a problem of itself, but it looks like the way in for him (as Kingy, praise be, has identified), is having a specific task and opponent to get involved straight away. In time he'll learn to read the play better, I reckon he'll go alright. He's got the right attitude. We need that.

It's been often stated by past and present coaches it takes around 50 games to feel comfortable at the level. Have a look at our next premiership tilt list and how many are around the number...

If he could make it as a designated tagger that would be a win. There is a role for a tagger. I don't see him offering much outside of that role.

Couldn’t agree more, he was smashed at times by the saints players and kept on going. Tough bugger. Jack Steele will be a great asset for him.

If Kolt tags in all the H & A games (plus finals?) he will potentially be matched up on 23 A Grade players

He's not going to break even or win every battle. Success rate? Who knows?

A 50/50 result would be a big win (from an overall perspective)

Agreed.

He did get shown up on a few occasions when playing as a deep defender, but:

a) Alot of more seasoned players might also have been exposed in a similar way playing against someone with the skills and athletic profile of NAS

b) He can take it on as a learning experience.

Overall, he did a pretty decent job and we won the game, so happy days. If he kicked that set shot on goal he had, it would have been the icing on the cake. Hope he can continue these kind of performances and build his own game at the same time.

The delusional bit is offering an extension adter round 1 instead of waiting to see a body of work.

It was a dumb decision to delist him proven by the fact that he is still playing for a better team than ours.

IMO Koltyn could make it as the successor to Jake Melksham. They are both similar - same height, strong builds, a long kick and good competitors.

Melksham took years to find his feet as a forward. Years of experience playing down back and learning the game. We can invest in Kolt to do the same.

Look up Jordan Lewis and his critique of NAS on Fox last night. In key moments NAS was selfish and let Kolt loose. Kolt had more score involvement and played the selfless team role. Great observations from Lewis
