Barely even blue collar. It's mostly just celebrating with his teammates.

20 yo with 20 games under his belt. Gee we are a fickle mob. Based on that equation we would have sacked Gawny back in the day!

I distinctly remember a few posters here calling for that early in his career. We (self included) can get a little frustrated and impatient with a player's development at times. I keep reminding myself, I'm a SUPPORTER and why I don't listen to people like Kane Cornes.

He seems to benefit from having a direct opponent.

Agree, previously he's looked a little lost in play, struggling to get involved - tbf he's just a kid barely 20 games in and that's not a problem of itself, but it looks like the way in for him (as Kingy, praise be, has identified), is having a specific task and opponent to get involved straight away. In time he'll learn to read the play better, I reckon he'll go alright. He's got the right attitude. We need that.

It's been often stated by past and present coaches it takes around 50 games to feel comfortable at the level. Have a look at our next premiership tilt list and how many are around the number...

If he could make it as a designated tagger that would be a win. There is a role for a tagger. I don't see him offering much outside of that role.

Proud of his game on the weekend. He fought back well and started to challenge NAS the other way as shown by Jordan Lewis On the Couch. I reckon after quarter time he was told to not be so rigid but losses up and try and get him on the return.

People on here seem to forget he missed the whole of last pre season due to injury and was always behind the eight ball in terms of fitness and then through incompetent coaching was brought straight back into the AFL team off the back of zero match fitness and all that did was set him up to fail.

He would have learnt s great deal playing on NAS in terms if running ability and always staying focused in the moment.

I would certainly like to see him play more midfield minutes and get the ball in his hands as he is actually a very neat user of the footy.

That kick to Trelly that enabled him to mark without breaking stride was sublime

I think giving young mids a tagging role early in their career can be a great learning tool to develop their craft outside of the tagging role.

Sure, this weekend his job was to shut down nas, but every game he plays against an AA calibre player he is learning from them too.

Couldnโ€™t agree more, he was smashed at times by the saints players and kept on going. Tough bugger. Jack Steele will be a great asset for him.

If Kolt tags in all the H & A games (plus finals?) he will potentially be matched up on 23 A Grade players

He's not going to break even or win every battle. Success rate? Who knows?

A 50/50 result would be a big win (from an overall perspective)

It seems king has actually looked at koltyns strengths & what he is capable of. Amazing.

This.

Love how kingy speaks so highly of his athletic profile

Selected a cher song for his after goal celebration

He needs a serious talking to about that

Showed up the wonder boy a few times on the weekend. Played his role well so positive signs in that regard.

Seriously needs referring to the MRO.

Agreed.

He did get shown up on a few occasions when playing as a deep defender, but:

a) Alot of more seasoned players might also have been exposed in a similar way playing against someone with the skills and athletic profile of NAS

b) He can take it on as a learning experience.

Overall, he did a pretty decent job and we won the game, so happy days. If he kicked that set shot on goal he had, it would have been the icing on the cake. Hope he can continue these kind of performances and build his own game at the same time.

How on earth is it criticism to point out that he hasn't really done anything yet.

The delusional bit is offering an extension adter round 1 instead of waiting to see a body of work.

I reckon we wouldโ€™ve won by 10 goals on Sunday if we hadโ€™ve kept Oskar Baker. A great call by you ๐Ÿ‘

Maybe

Maybe we would have.

It was a dumb decision to delist him proven by the fact that he is still playing for a better team than ours.

IMO Koltyn could make it as the successor to Jake Melksham. They are both similar - same height, strong builds, a long kick and good competitors.

Melksham took years to find his feet as a forward. Years of experience playing down back and learning the game. We can invest in Kolt to do the same.

Good point.

Maybe he can be our Brett Lovett MK11 off HB.

Reckon he was harshly judged upon arrival at the club for the wrap around sunnies and the hair but he is maturing into a likely prospect

It didn't help but he's on the improve as supporters that's all we can ask for.

Look up Jordan Lewis and his critique of NAS on Fox last night. In key moments NAS was selfish and let Kolt loose. Kolt had more score involvement and played the selfless team role. Great observations from Lewis

he and obst tag-teaming diesel williams in the first final against the baggers in 94 remains one of the great shut-down jobs of all time

williams was in all-time form at the time - was averaging 30 disposals a gam and they held him to under 20 and completely negated any effect he had on the game

One of the many highlights on a memorable sunny Sunday afternoon. Us 7th v them 2nd, Schwarz, out of the ruck, blind turn, goal Punt road end. Thrashed the Dogs next week, Lyon 10, Schwarz BOG.

94, the one that got away. Obst and G. Lovett very underrated by most IMO.

Kolt has some similarities to B. Lovett I reckon.

Certainly not underrated by me. Those 2 were absolute guns.

If Kolt can be half the player Brett Lovett was I'll be wrapped - 3 VFL Teams of the year ie AA.
