Our inside 50 connection is going to get a lot better with two beautiful left foot kicks coming in.

It probably doesn’t factor much but I do wonder if Lindsay’s connection to Mentha through Gippsland could make it more likely we take him?

JT mentioned on gettable yesterday that the Gippsland boys have been very welcoming of Mentha, and specifically name dropped Duursma (I think Zane?) and Lindsay

Willem Duursma (eligible for next year likely top 5 pick) is who he was referring to. But yep, the name drop of Lindsay pricked my ears also.

Happy with Lindsay , best on ground in the states grand final.
has a weapon of a kick and can find the footy.

wonder what his running stats where at the combine ..?

I think he was still out with injury for the Combine.

Doesn't mean all that much be he said 'Duursma last year' indicating it was probably Zane. Although every chance with such a successful family it was probably a family affair.

Of the four names that we’re linked to (tauru, Langford, Lindsay, Allan), I think the only combination I’d be disappointed with is Lindsay and Tauru. Feel like at minimum we need 1 big bodied, ready to go mid for round 1 next year

?? Am I missing something? He says it’s a toss-up between Lindsay and Allan at 9.

which could see the Demons having to choose between Allan and Lindsay. Rival clubs believe that decision is extremely line-ball and could go either way”

Yep, can confirm this to be true.

Carlton 'in-the-know' poster on bigfooty, who claims links to Port Adelaide insiders, says Port are under the impression the Crow's are selecting Draper......for whatever little that is worth

I'm hoping Richmond completely shut up shop on their draft picks and there's pandemonium tomorrow night. It would be fun (assuming we aren't particularly impacted). Go Tiges! The icing on the cake would be a Silvagni howler.

So likely two of Langford, Tauru, Allan, Lindsay with a pick out the back end.

I like it 👏👏 … JT will have the combinations all worked out

Can anyone explain why we're not into Sid Draper at all?

He is literally everything we need - fast, agile, skilful, run and carry between the arcs, hit targets in transition, tough as nails, creative, good character, in and out midfielder.

Looks like a combination of Lachie Neale and Zach Merrett but with even more speed and agility.

Langford looks ok, but I don't feel he will change anything with the way we play.

It's a big call but Draper could, like Naicos for Collingwood.

Maybe it's a given that the Crows take him or maybe he has a big go home factor. Not sure, but there is no player more suited to us in this draft.

Man….if the Crows take Langford and we pass on this kid I’d be pretty disappointed. He was my preference over Langford, but I’m coming around the Langford because of his forward ability.

Draper looks a polished workhorse. I’d be surprised if the Crows pass on him.

May the crows beggar belief, be bamboozled in the headlights and  buy or be bullied into taking Harvey the Bull.

Sid the Draper suits our needs best prototype modern footballer. Best dressed gets their man.

🤞🤞🤞 🤞 🤞

I've seen Draper the least out of this years reported top 10 so my opinion is less informed.

But reading up on his weakness it sounds like he's a poor user of the footy.

To the the extent that we need a big bodied mid it’s to play in 3+ years time.

Langford and Allan aren’t playing significant midfield time round 1 if Oliver, Tracc, Viney, Rivers are up and going.

I honestly can't imagine a scenario where a club that took a Curtain last year passes on a Draper this year.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
