Oliver Trade Rumours

Exactly. All this criticism, doomsaying, character-assassinating as result of what? The club has said multiple times: he won't be traded. Some media snipers dispute this but offer no actual evidence. People need to get a grip!!

Its what they get paid to do. Speculate based off of speculation. So many people here are getting sucked in.

When I see the name McClure next to anything I simply just ignore it. He's getting paid to be an ultracrepidarian.

His goal is to keep pushing a story beyond truth to get clicks and make forums such as this go mental talking about him. He lost a lot of credit for his Harley Reid statements last year when he said "I'm telling you they're not going to pick him" (referring to West Coast) and many other occasions where his speculation was just simply false. He doesn't care, he wins either way.

The pile-on the club with regards to the Oliver & Petracca issues is not just coming from the media, it's coming from supporters of all the other clubs and our own supporters

It's coming from supporters of other clubs and our own supporters BECAUSE it's coming from the media, don't you see that?  The media are the ones setting the agenda. No one would be talking about this at all if Manure et al kept to not making up stories.

As for Petracca and his petty attitude dragging the club through the mud for close on 3 weeks, that was disgraceful

I wonder who or what was dragging us through the mud for the previous 2 years though?

Give it a rest Macca, you’ve made your point more than once.

Completely agree Starti .
Macca as in all things it takes 2 to tango. Heard of that?

It’s not completely their  fault and if both parties had agreed to full and frank discussions at least with empathy from the Club how both were coming from it might have circumvented much of the outside media picnic.

The media needs to know that its decisions have been made ( and Trac and Clarry’s also ) hold ONE presser with Greeny Simon and Max plus the two and end the matter with questions to finalise the whole thing and any other matters of concern. End of story the Club or players will not be available to discuss these matters they are finished and we are not available to anyone who wishes to keep pushing their barrow for cheap and over exaggerated wishes to put the Club down.

BTW what if any role did the leadership group play in this ? Surely some of this could be handled by them. I don’t like it that we refuse to really nominate a specific group of players and only Gawny and Jack are put forward. Time to change this fiasco and make it serious  and in public.

Wouldn’t hurt to have both at some stage be on the leadership group to see how 40 plus players need allies like them at some stage.

Enough said Macca put your pen down please!!!

Ignoring the media isn't that hard ... it pays not to take things personally

But buying into their garbage is another matter.  Effectively blaming the club because the media are blaming the club is weak

The main 2 issues surrounds 2 players.  And in either case, the club is not at fault

But because they are our best 2 players many are blinded by their own adulation

Lose the adulation I say.  Team first wins

Anything else loses

And we need to get back to playing as a team again with or without the 2 problem players

This is relentless. Exhausting. Disheartening.

MFC: Just tell us what we're going to do and be done with it.

If we're going to give one of our greatest ever players the old heave ho, for nothing, for reasons unknown because the comms team is a mess/messages are mixed/bins are on fire everywhere - then whatever. Just do it.

Clarry is my favourite player and I'll be gutted if it goes, but I am tired of all this that I almost don't care anymore. And the opinion of us long-term members doesn't seem to matter. They don't listen. It's their job to run the footy club. But in my humble opinion, things are not being run well, and there is plenty of proof. Trac and Clarry debacles are recent examples.

It's like the plane has been going down for a while now, we've had the oxygen, but now we know nothing's going to change so I'm just going to stare out the window until it's done.

What a sh*t show.

If it's all to much to handle RBMB then just choose to tune out. Trade period will be all over next Thursday morning. Things could go many ways in the meantime - tune back in then and find out what happened.

Please don't keep these nonsense rumours swirling

The club have come out numerous times to say Oliver is going nowhere and will not be traded

The only reason it is in the news again is a re-hashed tweet with no new information as the 'journo's' can't justify their existence during a boring trade week

It's not over until the trade bell goes next Wednesday night, it's naive to think it is.

I had a wonderful, pressure relieving epiphany a few days ago.

All we supposedly know, is what the mostly detestable media pundits have told us, and given my general distrust of said pundits, I really actually know very little at all..

I’m sure there is truth to everything we’ve heard, but who actually knows but the club, and the player. In any case, anything we have heard has become pained and distorted either with intent by Morris, Cornes et al, or by us, in our Dees obsessed, fanatical handwringing.

It’s caused me to stop scrutinising and dissecting every shred of info.

Pure bliss.

Sorry, I misinterpretted.  I shouldn't post after letting Year 7s frazzle my brain!!!

Ha ha!

Don't worry, you and I are on the same page although I'm probably harder on players who become laws unto themselves

There's red flags everywhere including just lately with the 2 missed appointments (Compulsory) and the D & D at the Brownlow

It's any wonder that the other players are more than annoyed.  Team rules apply to everyone

This is how I used to think,no faith anymore .

Every chance he gets traded, could be what’s holding up the Bailey smith trade.

just my thoughts …

Getting back on topic...

I think we have no option but to either keep Clarry or trade him for what we'd probably consider a packet of chips.

While we don't know much of the details, I think it will depend whether the FD have simply had enough and want him out at all costs (relatively) or if they think he is capable of turning it around to recapture some fitness and form. I can't see how another club would take him unless it's at a rock bottom price, which will likely include us paying a chunk of his contract

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
