Just read dimmas comments, gee he didn't hold back. I think he was a little frustrated & rightly so

Mark Neeld vibes... where is veneer of mindfull/compassionate/empathic coach at Tigerland now?

How GWS have fallen.

Early season GF contenders

Reminds me of a few other teams

Each year just before round 1 I choose my Grand Finalists, Brownlow medalist and Coleman medalist. This year I chose a GWS v Blues GF. I felt smug after 7 rounds, but not now. GWS are a mile away from premiership contention. Swans v Blues looks the most likely now, although I reckon it might a year for a GF bolter like Dogs 2016, or Dees in 2021.

Gee wouldn’t mind Bedford’s smarts, tagging capabilities and leg speed on our list. Where did the Giants find him 😉

We wanted him to stay but he didn't.

Gee that Hogan bloke, a tall forward who can take a mark, would be handy in our forward line too!

I seriously miss Hogan.

You can't teach his contested marking craft and body work.

Most forwards just don't have it in their kit bag and rely mostly on burst speed, leading patterns, some agility, timing and blocks from others.

The stand and deliver that he brings is invaluable.

Tex & Hawkins the other two stand outs in this aspect atm when fit and on the park.

Yes true and maybe he left because we preferenced a couple of other small forwards ahead of him.

Yeah well I prefer the Steven May and Premiership that we turned him into.

Briggs is giving TDK a bath. TDK looks so average right now.

But the commentators said TDK was soooo good

I could see the rivalry alive between Clarko and Dimma. I didnt mind Harwick saying what he did. Better than getting learning in my view.

They are actually very close mates.

Went into this round thinking Essendon, Port and GWS were the sides above us we wanted to aim to catch.

Now it feels like it’s Collingwood, the Bulldogs and Gold Coast.

Such is the evenness of this season.

Which should be a reminder to all of us - don’t write us off. There’s still something to make of 2024 for us yet.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
