Sadly I don't get to the ammos these days. My eldest grand daughter is into basketball so we go to that every Saturday. The be honest I enjoy that much more than the MFC these days. If it wasn't for the Dees I would have no interest in AFL.

So life’s good spending time with a loved one while they are doing something they enjoy

Ok given situations and the fact I keep putting more people on ignore, Its as good a time as any to go into hiatus on Demonland for a while. Cheers P.F

I don’t suffer fools old dee, they don’t warrant my time or response. Hope you’re going well and not to disheartened by the current situation we find ourselves in.

I have my health, a roof over my head, a wonderful wife, sons who are turning into fine young men and the family overall are in a good place.

On the footy side of things, what can I say, us older folk have seen this all before, whilst the MFC are currently struggling, it’s not all bad, I have a role that I love and keeps me busy, I occasionally get to watch my boys play and still regularly get to go to the Ammo’s to share good times, talk about old stories and a few beers with good friends. In a nutshell as bad as things may seem there are always positives.

Keep the faith and enjoy your time with family and if you’re still getting along to the Ammo’s smile and enjoy

INCORRECT, we are the oldest professional football club in the world.

168 years old.

And we'll be around for another 168 years - long after we are all forgotten.

A proud club, with a proud history, with players who have given their all, even in the many barren years.

A proud club that deserves respect- least of all from supposed supporters.

I've had it up to here with posters on this forum taking every opportunity to slag off the mighty dees.

Well said Binman. Totally agree.

I am so bored by the negativity on this site and general lack of respect shown to fellow DL’s that I find I am no longer enjoying reading the posts on here. Used to luv it, but now find it hard to get enthused to read them. I now resort to looking for favoured posters, but even these are often in battle with others. There are posters on here that I swear only come out of the woodwork when things ain’t so hot, just to sink their boots in. Never hear from them when things are good. I just don’t understand that. [censored] me, it’s just a game.

Don’t worry Neil, you still have my brilliant and wonderfully insightful posts to read.

Don't do that picket. So what if posters disagree with you. It's a broad church here. Plenty of room for dissenting opinions like yours.

Nice one Binman. Many thanks.

We have 2 living hall of farmers. Hassa  83 years old and neitta. Why would they attend.?

Goody in as a player. He's a bit busy.

Glad we didn't turn up. Left more space for Dane swan's associates.

Never explain and never complain is my motto.

Great work by Kate and Pert in not jumping hoops to satisfy some posters on here and lazy media types in general.

Go Dee's. I have us 8th after this weekend

That's why I stay away from here after every loss, most posters don't have a backbone

Welcome to my world, NC. 😭

btw, you nailed it… there is a group of posters who only rear their sour heads when things aren’t going well. It happens too often to be a coincidence. As the saying goes: Misery Loves Company, and the usual suspects sure luvs them a good ol’ group misery-fest after a loss. These selfsame gloom-mongers call folks like me delusional. But I’d sooner be full of hope and enthusiasm no matter how we’re travelling than to be wallowing in abject wretchedness.

I sometimes wonder who these people barrack for, since it clearly isn’t Melbourne.

This is the greatest football club in the world. We should have a special system to keep ungrateful fans from ever being fans of the Red and Blue. I propose it in the next election .

I don't come on much other than match days and a day or two during the week because of the foam that constantly spews out on these boards. If it's not outlandish sweeping negative statements about how [censored] we are, it's people who whinge about negative behaviour on here before it's even happened which is just as negative.

You want to go back to the times of just chatting footy? Find a few mates and text them regularly, that's what I've been doing. It's better than running the open gauntlet of garbage here day after day like a soap opera.

How can you say that to @layzie Old Dee? Wasn’t it you who said, just a couple of days ago, that you’d had enough and were taking an extended break from DL? (Mind you, said “extended break” happened to last a good 6 hours!).

Yes I did, funny about that. Good pick up. Some comments I just couldn't  resist. After the shambles of a game like  KB it pays to let your brain settle before moving fingers. I will probably go tonight even though I have less than zero confidence.

Today I went to my grand daughters basket ball game. They won by 1 point. After trailing all game, the opposition led by 1 point with 10 seconds to go all they need to do was maintain position. With 6 seconds to go we stole the ball. Our  girl is a good player but not a good shooter. With all our hearts in our mouths she drove to the ring and straight in.  I have seldom celebrated more with parents etc. nothing the Dees can possibly do tonight will equal that game. By they way they are the Devils!

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
