How come when you play on a Monday there seems to be no timeframe for naming a team? Given the games' tomorrow I thought they would have had to announce a team by late yesterday...

It’s [censored]. It’s probably just so that Pathetic lames TV station 7 can name it at the news.

Speaking of a painful end, I just sat in a puddle on a bench. Not drops of water… an actual puddle. And now my ‘end’ is threatening to join the Let’s Deprive Her Of All Feeling list. The things one does for one’s Club 😑

How’s the hair holding up WCW?

Bloody hell it looks cold! I’m at the airport about to fly down, I haven’t packed for the conditions…..

Here’s how cold it is… I’m 100% a winter person and I’m soooo cold right now. And that’s with the appropriate clothing. So, in short… you’re screwed.

No it’s to give Goody enough time to reinforce his house with 6in steel cladding in readiness for when he names McAdam and Petty. 🙄

Gosch the ground looks like a paddock

Was Kentfield an on-Luker?

Meanwhile it's the first sunny day in Sydney in almost two weeks!  Perfect weather to *checks notes* ...be stuck inside packing to move houses

Is moving house your hobby or something? You seem to do it every five minutes. Here’s an idea: next time you move house… move back to Melbz. 😃

Disco was in a particularly good mood today. Very buoyant and happy. Idk if that has anything to do with selections though, but it was nice to see.

Ah, I was just in the area, had I known training was on I would have dropped past.

I suspect it's in JvR, Howes, Billings and Laurie.

Out: Hunter, Tomlinson, McAdam and Woewodin (may have missed him in the training video).

I'd be surprised if those doing the captains run are burning down to Casey fields for a game.

Hunter is a definite out, maybe JvR for Hunter only.

Au contraire, given I'm not the organising type!  But the rental market in Syd was so bad I only got a 6 mth lease.  Now I'm moving to a forever* home which should put a stop to all this silliness!  Still going to be near the SCG though 😁  it's just not the weekend if you don't hear the stadium sirens!

*at least until I eventually move back to Melb

Think I spotted Howes, Turner, Billings, Laurie and K Brown in those videos. Maybe k Brown as carry over emergency?

Special thanks to @WalkingCivilWar

Thanks once again WCW for your generous offerings.

I wonder if that means that none of these will be at Casey with multiple hold over emergencies?  And, of course, yet another bloody bye next week so some poor buggers will not get a gig for 3 weeks or so.  Not good enough this as a "support" or "development" competition.

WCW - can you recall seeing any of last week's team (other than Hunter) NOT there?

Did any of the apparent extras seem to dash for a car to head to Casey?

Maysi looks like he’s holding his left hammy😧.

Then again half our team looks to have an injury looking gait. Maybe it’s to confuse the opposition.

forgot about Hunter

i reckon if we bring another tall in we need to drop one. we’d be too tall against the pies

I reckon It will be:

Out: Hunter, McAdam, Tomlinson

In: Laurie, JvR, Howes

Tomlinson had a shocker last week and the Pies have a very short forward line so I think Howes will come in for him.

Anyone but Laurie, please. Has shown nothing and doesn't look at all like a player who would rise on a stage like King's Birthday.

Have similar feelings about Howes, had some shaky moments in bigger games while he was in the team.

Unfortunately we don't really have any other options. Billings is just as bad as Laurie.

Thanks WCW greatly appreciated, it looks very wet and cold at Gosh’s great effort on your part.😁

Give Howes a chance he's only a kid and he's also done some good things he just needs experience.

The smile's hard to read, W. I'd err on the side of caution, nice boy that Christian is, notwithstanding.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
