On the assumption that Scott has (and does) show this type of bias, it is very disappointing.

Think whatever you want of how he presents publically, he is one of the most influential people on modern AFL through his tactical approach to coaching at AFL level. It tarnishes what should be a great reputation.

I think Oliver returning to form on Saturday will help Petracca.  He’s been struggling with 100% attention whilst Oliver’s been injured.

My thinking exactly. WHen Oliver gets to his elite self, he will attract a tag, that will free up Petracca.

The one dis on Trac is his defensive game. He needs a more defensive presence, which can be then used to work the tag to our advantage. He needs to improve this.

Salty Chris Scott is one of the main reasons I enjoy beating the Cats.

He thinks his players were off but also thinks his players were the best on the ground. Make up your mind Chris!

He takes losses worse than some Demonlanders and it's glorious to watch.

(I know, I know, we don't know for sure how he voted. But I think it's a pretty safe bet).

Max is streets ahead of any other ruckman.

On sports bet and tab. He is into 35 and 41. For the Brownlow.   Started out at 101.
Hope he gets shorter,    …..   joke

hope he has a couple of suns.

But how do you know who Scott voted for?  He could have given Lever five votes for all we know.

There is not a snowflakes chance in hell that Goodwin gave 5 votes for Holmes.

Scott is a great coach, was a better than average footballer, not a bad bloke in person.

...but the whining in his press conferences and disrespect to opponents is not doing him any favours.

I thought Holmes was best on. Lever was great but O.Henry did get away for 3 goals.

Holmes, Lever, May then

Goody

5 - Lever
4 - Pickett
3 - Holmes
2 - Guthrie
1 - Gawn

Scott
5 - Holmes
4 - Guthrie
3 - May
2 - Gawn
1 - Petty

There's a few other way to get the same outcome, which sees Goody give May 1 vote instead of Gawn and a bit of shuffling from Scott. But the bottom line is how Scott didn't find room on his votes for Hawkins, Cameron, Danger and Rohan.

Well, Danger did not play so don't see how he could have given him a vote..  Ahhh sorry, you are correct... We are speaking about Scott ... that makes sense ( or no sense in his mind).

I've thought Scott was a bit of a you-know-what for a while, but the Pettiness to rate his players as bog in this game rather than just suck up the fact that he lost is pretty damning.

Who gave what to whoever is of course debatable.  But your reasoning seems ok.

only way for Holmes to get 8. Is to get a 5 and 3.

petts got 1 vote Max and May shuffled

3 and 0.    And 2 and 1 .    No other way.  That leaves Kossy 4 and 0

Lever 5 and 0

and Guthrie on the 4 and missing 2

What a lot of fun.
it does highlight the difference in the coaches   That Lever  and Kossy were not considered a threat by one coach but we’re by the other. At least Guthrie and Holmes got votes from both. There is no guarantee that Scott gave his boys 4 and 5.
Go Dee’s. I do hope we have planned to come out hard against the blue baggers.

their last minute win last year gave me the shirts.   Quiet all day then we panic and kick it to them twice in the last minute or so  and they think they were champions.

Right in front of me as well.

It beggars belief that Lever didn't get 10 votes imo. I thought he was clearly the best and most influential player on the ground on the night. I guess one of the reasons he was so influential was that Scott didn't rate his game as worth trying to curtail.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
