Hogan in fine fettle this year.

Looks super fit and focused.

Considering the good crowds they are getting in the nation's capital I wonder if it's worth moving the Giants down there full-time. Canberra Giants also sounds so much better that Greater Western Sydney.

Would have to name them the Frost Giants.

Anyway, those good crowds are influenced a bit by a general scarcity of top-level football. Supporters of fifteen* other clubs will get along to see a game even if they don't care much for the competing clubs on the day.

*do you really think anyone in Canberra would support Gold Coast?

Anyone remember what happened late September the last time there was a draw on Anzac Day?

My partner just got back from the ‘G (bombers fan)

She said she’s never going to the footy again, the Collingwood supporters were so disgusting.

She left her seat with 10 minutes to go because she genuinely felt threatened regardless if they won or lost.

For context sake, we have a friend who works in the corporate functions team for the pies, so we occasionally get tickets among Pies supporters.

Shocked! ....not really, this is but a sample of what's going to be on KB match.

Or Canberra could become the 20th team?

Still, if this game was played in western Sydney tonight they'd be lucky to get 4,000 people through the turnstiles. It would be great for a national competition to have Canberra join Tasmania in the competition.

We dont have the talent pool to cover 18 teams, let alone 20.

Merge the two AFL clubs in GWS and GC, relocate them to Canberra?

Or just move the Giants there permanently then play 3 games in West Sydney.

It would make more sense than Darwin but they've just mentioned on the broadcast that there are 6,000 GWS members in Canberra so it might be easier to grow that figure than ask the locals to switch teams.

Anyone got a theory about what side winning this GWS/Brisbane game is better for the Dees?

I think Giants win is better, as I think it makes it too hard for Brisbane.

Allow me to continue with my obsession re commentators selectively calling certain players by their first + last names ...

Harris Andrews, Harris Andrews, Harris Andrews ....

As previously noted, they do it more with players with first names that are more like surnames.

Thank you for your interest.

Exactly, just flip the current script. They can play Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond up there so the place looks half full for tv.

Agree, HBT. If Brisbane lose tonight it is very tough for them to be top 4 at the end of the home and away season. And they won't win it without that advantage.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
