I read that the Kolt didn't train. Is he injured? Or dropped?

Doesn't do the kid's confidence much good if he's dropped after 1 game

He's listed as omitted Moonie .... but I agree, I thought he was worth another run

I’m not 100% sold on Turner for Brown but I’m happy to back him and the FD in to try it. Perhaps trying for a more defensive forward sort of role, the sort we might be using Melksham in if he were available.

Tholstrup out a sad but correct call IMO. Just not quite ready yet. He’ll be back.

I’m very, very unsure that Laurie is now or will ever be good enough at AFL level but I understand the importance of rewarding VFL form and with Salem out, we needed another runner (whether starting 22 or as sub) so he earnt it.

I think Woey will play high half back and replace Salem. Turner forward and Laurie sub.

No fault on Woey's part but he was NOT anywhere near an adequate replacement for the injured Salem.

Maybe Turner will play a role on HBF??

Maybe. But i am just basing my guess on Kev’s training report which had Woewodin with the defenders and Turner the forwards.

Turner was good last week down back with Casey but even better forward in the 2nd half. Can even swap with T Mc if necessary.

Goody must rate him to include him so quickly after recovering from injury.

Kolt's time will come I am sure.

Tholstrup is very professional at the training sessions. Reminds me of Viney, he has extreme drive and standards for himself.

He will turn every stone to make sure he becomes a staple in the 22.

FFS..Laurie…if this bloke has another sub 10 disposal game and more clangers, I am done. It’s a nonsensical decision. The same pattern repeats…he can’t cut it at AFL level, goes back to VFL, has a blinder and is straight back in. It’s time to produce

It wasn't a blinder IMHO Kickit.

A very solid game with the highlight being 17 tackles.

Still coughed up some major clangers (mostly by foot) and mostly under fairly average to just ok pressure.

Unfortunately Kolt probably didn't do enough to hold on to his place with Kozzy coming back.

Maybe the coaches don't see Kolt as having the tank / strength/  experience to hold down a mostly mid field role (at this point) and see him more as a HF-Mid.

For mine i thought Sestan and Paddy Cross's games were as good or better than Bill against Port.

Not that Ollie was polished enough through the middle to earn a call up for this role either, in particular he still has much improvement to go with two way running and defending/pressure in general.

However, Ollie is picking up the pace and may only be a few months or so away from knocking the door down .  Hopefully sooner and playing a mostly HF role where he seems much more at home and quite dangerous when he's on.

The FD probably has more trust in Bill's defensive side which was on show over the weekend.

Given the oppo's depleted line up i personally think we may have missed the boat here and could have left Kolt in to go around one more time tomorrow night.

He may have settled in his second game and gained some confidence from the coach backing him in.

And given there's likely to be a bit more space & time vs the Tiges, who knows, he may have brought something more impressive to the table.

I'm sure he'll be back at some stage this season and really looking forward to seeing how he goes at Casey tomorrow and beyond.

Just watching AFL 360, May and Goodwin wrestling 28min mark, Goodwin not without some strength, however afterwards Goodwin appeared to reach for his hamstring. Reckon he has trouble letting go, I know the feeling.

where will Turner play?

Anywhere Dub, cause he’s Fitter.

Clearly it’s been too long without a game for me.

Grimes stiffens them up a fair bit. Grimes, Vlastuin and Broad are still very handy so we'll need to be smart about our forward entries.

Lever May T Mac at the back

Fritsch JVR Petty up front

why was Turner brought in?

Most likely forward.  Possibly as sub?  If so will most likely replace Petty at some stage.

Alternatively he comes straight in for BBB and Laurie as sub?

Looked very much at home and a natural, playing forward on Sat.

Turner offers us flexibility forward and back, as does Petty and even TMAC.  Also there could be a weather dependence on who gets a run - Laurie .woey if wet, Disco if dry.

My weather app says some showers tonight and early morning then pretty much dry for rest of the day / evening. Perfect weather for footy.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
