Whenever I think of Bevo I think of the different halftime instructions Goodwin and Bevo gave to their players.
Goodwins message was clear and concise whereas Beveridge was a disjointed old school babble.

"He's fine. For some reason, he lost his footing and stumbled, but he's fine. He's been looked after and there's no concussion or anything like that," Beveridge said of Liberatore.

Thanks so much for posting that Fork.

Takes one's mind away from Thursday night and shows what we are capable of.

PS Bevo totally uninspiring. Does he have some goat photos?

How anyone can get stuck into Bevo as a coach is beyond me. Even a shallow dive into the stats say he's been a supurb coach. A deep drive into the stats says he's one of the best.

If there was a ‘tweaked ankle’ that caused it, usually you grab at the injury site straight away after falling. And he also doesn’t try to take weight off either ankle before he falls.

But then again, he also stops his fall with his hands, which shows he’s not so out of it he can’t protect himself.

Despite my comment about his GF address being disjointed babble I do think this is fair.
He might be eccentric but he can't be a mug.
His results are far better than that.

Its starting to get some attention now, but their list outside of their top half dozen or so is only average.

With all due respect to these players, it's no wonder they're not a certified top 8 team when you have Williams, Baker, Khamis, O'Donnell, Vandermeer, Johannisan, Duryea playing regularly with a young Sanders and Gallagher.

Macrae is out of form and probably past his best and Daniels not preferred in the side and has significant limitations, his skills by foot have deserted him over recent years and are inconsistent at best. Smith obviously out injured doesn't help their shallow midfield beyond their core 3.

Bevos been there a while now and done quite well with the list he has in my opinion. It will be interesting to see if the heat ramps up on him though. They're trapped in that mid-tier level currently.

Anyone know anything about that type of tackle from Stringer? Is it dangerous and does it cause damage to lungs or rib cage?

Watched it again after posting it.
Dunno what it is, no matter how may times I see it, right toward the end of the 3rd Qtr my eyes start watering.
Strange phenomenon I thought might go away but seems to be lingering.
Also makes me feel happy and warm so that's a plus.

Harmes' pass to Fritter to turn the tide gave me goose bumps. Always does.

watched the whole thing again, i needed that!

Goodwin is an excellent communicator. Clear, smart and has an obvious emotional bond with the group

There will be a mass exodus from the Dogs if they keep losing this year.
This is a Club who lost a home game to Meth Coke last year

I understand this, but no team would end up with both ‘Marra and Bont, least of all us.

he’s been there so long and they still have a terrible defence. He is good on game day but lacks other aspects of being an overall good coach.

I didn’t say we would get both, but we should chase them hard.
The Dogs are finished

Carlton’s luck continues.

Sam Taylor looks badly concussed (hopefully he’ll be ok)

Guess who Carlton are playing next week?

Agree. Beveridge is full of BS.

Libba doesn’t stumble or lose his footing.  He simply loses his senses and falls. Have to applaud Parish for checking in him and raising his hand.  There is the game and there is humanity.  Parish 👏👏👏 Bevo 🥔 🥔🥔

Dal Santo: “The care that they’re taking for Sam Taylor is intense, but it appears to be correct.”

Thanks Dr. Nick!

GWS are good to watch but gees why players cannot kick a drop set shots instead of snapping within the 45 degree arc does my head in.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
