Flu? Covid? Gastro?

Hope he's ok!

He looked exhausted after Sat game. Pale and completely spent. Reduced immunity. Lots of possible infection spread with all the players, staff and families.

I asked Maisie if he would be playing tomorrow.  Responded with a cheesy grin: “I think so, if it I get hit it will hurt, but I’ll just have to wear it”.

He was involved in a few (light) contested marking drills vs Roo.  Roo won most of them, but Maisie appeared to be unhindered.  He did seem to struggle a bit when the ball hit the deck, but he often does that.

My guess is he’ll play.

Chin, BBB and TMac all seemed to be moving freely, and at solid pace when needed.  All will play, I reckon.

Woey 2.0's smile above looks to me like he's got the nod.

expect May to test Walkers back if he tries.

Team doing full ground movement drill, 16 vs 12, everyone involved, moving ball out of backline, seems to be more about finding open player, no contest, every player involved, doesn’t seem to be any issues with injuries. Concentrating on running in waves, which the opposition seemed to do to us a lot last year.

Agree @Bendigo_Demon.  Lots of direction, pointing and encouragement from the coaches, and applause and talk from the playing group when things worked well, which it mostly did.

I reckon Walker is less likely to play them May. If he does, I think they’ll put May on Fogarty and TMac or Lever On Walker to exploit his lack of fitness.

Chuck Norris checks under his bed before going to sleep - just to make sure Jack Viney's not there.

Wouldn't surprise me if Tholstrup is there to soak in the experience with no intention of playing him (as Casey have a bye).  I remember them doing this as far back as 2017, taking young squad members who are on the fringe to be part of interstate trips - a good chance to bond with the seniors and also observe the preparation of the senior players in a way you wouldn't get with a match in Melbourne.

From all reports, he's not far away! (and I could be wrong too and he plays tomorrow night!)

Casey has a bye!! What a BASKET CASE of a competition! The sooner we run a reserves comp with AFL teams ONLY the better, just Amateur hour really!

Just a very stupid idea to be considering rushing back a veteran like May. Petty clearly came back a week too early but luckily it didn't affect the result.

Goodwin does this regularly - in 2022 rushing players not 100% or lacking match fitness ie Langdon & Salem & last year playing Gawn in the final with a sore toe.

There is no need to do it.

Dont believe it’s rushing. If he wasn’t right, he wouldn’t play. If he wants to play and the club tick the relevant boxes keeping him out won’t make a difference in my opinion. He is at no more risk playing this week than next.

VFL bye because of the VFL v SANFL game which is linked to gather round. I’m led to believe there is a VFL practice match, unsure of the opponent though.

As for the VFL/reserves comp debate, I totally agree it needs to come in and believe it will sooner rather than later. Both Adelaide clubs are now pushing to leave the SANFL and either join the VFL or push the case of a reserves competition. (Which in my opinion would be the right call). The WAFL and SANFL aren’t adequate leagues any longer unfortunately. Especially when there’s already 14 teams in the VFL comp.

I'd love to see the re-instatement of a proper reserves competition. However, how would that work in the northern States? Where would Gold Coast and GWS find enough players to make up a seconds squad? I suspect that may be one of the main reasons for the mess which is the VFL competition at the moment.

That's complete BS spin by the Club. Langdon "ticked all the boxes" after his rib injury yet he played with 2 sleeping bags wrapped around his chest & struggled for several games.

Players like May are veterans & should be wrapped in cotton wool.

Players play with injuries all the time and you would never know, he will be hampered but so will a number of players from both sides

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
