Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

if hodge, headland and burgoyne all get off before playing us, and goodes and west get nothing after playing us, no way he'll go. his defense could just be shock at seeing bruce with his head over the ball

I feel sorry for Kerr because he'll probably get a week or two for it. After watching the reply it was a little reckless but there wasn't much malicious intent and he made sure Bruce was ok immediately afterwards.

Having said that if it was Pickett or Moloney then everyone would be screaming for his blood.

It was sloppy and careless, and the AFL have shown no mercy for this kind of thing before. He'll get at least a week, I imagine; not intentional but definitely reckless.

He immediately knew he'd cocked up after he did it, which is why he made sure Bruce was okay afterwards.

I'm with Nasher......

It was definitely sloppy but not intentional, but if the AFL is true to their word (and try not to laugh at my attempted sincerity in saying that) about penalising those making high contact to those with their heads over the ball then he should get at least a week.

That being said, who the hell really knows these days ;) ?!!!

It could also be interesting to see what happens to Brett Kirk.......

He will more than likely be looked at for seemingly running into Chad Cornes front on as they were both going for the ball in the Swans win yesterday over Port.

I wouldn't feel sorry for Kerr at all. He knew he was in strife the moment that impact was inevitable and attempted to make light of the situation. Didn't he make sure that Mitchell was "OK" too after whacking him in the orchestral-stalls? Although there is no denying he can play footy he's proved time and time again that he's a first-order worm.

What is his tribunal record like over all?

are you talking about a head high contact, or a bowel movement? lol

It's not something I'd fancy anywhere the face or head. Sounds very enteric.

he better go. the afl have said that this is no go, you cannot ump a player who had his head over the ball.

personally however i dont think it was as bad as some other incidents. he didnt try and clean him up, i think he wanted to make body contact to contest the footy. it looked like he tried to twist out of the way a bit, and propped a little so that he didnt run right through him. it was more of a hip to the shoulder than the head...

personally i think this example should get a couple of weeks tops. if the afl have any resolve or balls it should be 4-8 weeks based on how they have treated pickett and others...

i dont understand why they need a special rule about bumps to the head. it was already covered by the rules: you can hip and shoulder a player to the side or front, as long as its not to their back, and as long as no contact is made to the head. he got the head so he'll go for a week or too, but it wasnt the worst ive seen.

I am particularly interested in this as I am sick and tired of seeing the Eagles getting treated too well by the AFL.

He is a great player but deliberately hit Bruce in the head over the ball, something the AFL have been very clear for players to avoid.

He should go and get 3-4 weeks IMO.

He has been up before and was it last year, avoided a certain penalty for smashing Mitchell in the family jewells.

Who knows what the AFL will do, maybe they will provide him with $50,000 worth of counselling over the publicity of the incident.

AFL, stop standing around like a WWF referee as Jake the snake Roberts puts a live snake in his opponents trunks, and pretend you see nothing and start going hard on this crew.

They say they will be hard on reckless head high collisions - well make a stand FFS.

don't forget Miller gave Hansen I think it was a little slap in the game last year, that grandma would laugh at, and he got TWO weeks for it.

Give these pr1cks nothing. No injuries and golden run from the AFL, I wanna see them get hit and have things a little tougher.

He'll go for atleast 1. What made it funny though was that he knew he did wrong as soon as he did it, and checked to see if Bruce was ok. He knew he was screwed. It was a pretty light tap and Bruce acted it out, but Kerr still checked cause he knew he was gone.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
