6 fifty-metre penalties now against North. At this point they should just go for the record.

Six of Carlton’s goals were a result of free kicks in their forward 50. Another two goals from 50m penalties (two of a total of six 50m penalties). That’s EIGHT goals.

Well, the battle to be our end of 2025 free agent ruck recruit remains interesting;

Xerri; 13 disposals at 84%, 32 hitouts, 8 tackles, 10 clearances, but only 24 metres gained.

De Konig; 13 disposals at 84%, 31 hitous, 5 tackles, 4 clearances, 1 goal assist, 6 score involvements

At this stage I'd give it to Xerri given that a lot of the difference can be attributed to a ruck free kick differential of 8 in De Konig's favour, and as a Melbourne player he would not get that kind of service.

I tipped the lions with great confidence.

Scrap that, they are a rabble.

Basically been surviving on their 52 win eight losses at the Gabba ratio.

Now they can't even win there.

Cameron is a gun but their other two big names up fwd are very inconsistent.

It’s why the AFL for me has become unbearable to watch. If the Dees weren’t in it, I would’ve (and just about have) given it away years ago. It has become so business driven, and what is best for that business to succeed, that the football aspect has been neglected for some time now.

Grass roots local footy is so much purer and more enjoyable to witness. Go and get yourself a team to follow outside of the national/state leagues. It is way more fun to watch and be a part of. You feel like you’re part of a real community.

Exactly right

The Blues look VG but don't face anyone serious until Rnd 6 vs GWS.

Even then that's at home at Marvel.

The following week they play the Cats... but get another out.   Not having to go to Taxpayer Park (again) and instead playing at a neutral venue (the G)

Since 1990 the Blues have only played at Taxpayer Park 6 times.

When looking at teams that have played the least number of games there, the Blues are ranked 3rd.

Just behind the Bombers (5).

With our old lovelies the Maggotpies sitting in the No.1 spot.

The last time the Maggotpies played there was during the last millennium... 1999

It must be Ugly Jumper Round

Saints didn’t get the memo in time. Next week’s abomination…

I watched the 3rd qtr and the Carlton biased umpiring was a disgrace.
And Larkey was stiff with that 50.
Umpire should've reversed it again when Weitering come in to make a hero out of himself starting a another squabble including multiple other players.
But no.

4 umpires yet players are still alowed to run over the actual mark and set their own mark.

They must be seeing it but just keep yelling "Stand"

Yet another jokefest on display from the AFL

Enough. The Crows v Freo game is almost unwatchable. All the run and grunt between two half back lines, with atrocius forward play and atrocious kicking. My adult kids home for easter are watching the Physical 100 - a Korean reality show based on physical challenges. Not my normal go-to, but the footy today has been so deplorable, I am giving it a go.

Is it possible for a great game of footy with pressure, good skills, and attacking flair?

That’s more of a reason to feel for their fans

Their Fans wanted to stay in Melbourne, but there’s not enough of them.
James Brayshaw told them he would fix everything, still waiting to see what he had planned

Wow the Crows are as bad as we used to be with their entries inside 50 and conversion

Having said that they just kicked their first in a while.

The goal ump called that "touched a behind" !!!?  WTF it was more than a foot over

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
