Port must really dislike Teakle, they recruited 2 rucks in the off season - bit suspicious for that reason but fills a clear need.

Yeah to me he has the size, athleticism and skills to easily be on an AFL list, so I was surprised he was delisted and no one took him, which might mean something especially as he's had injury concerns too. Port needed to bring in 2 established and healthy rucks and had young Visentini and it's hard to devote 4 list spots to rucks, especially when they have Dixon, Finlayson etc.

The question I'd have with Teakle is are the injuries a sign of a guy who doesn't put in the work to build his body and rehab effectively or are they just bad luck which might change?

He wouldn't give us much this year but I'd like to get him and hopefully sure up the back up to Max for a couple of years rather than kids or non ruckman types in Fullarton or Schache.

From posts on BigFooty, Teakle got pantsed in the SA vs WA state game last week

You'd have to imagine we would identify our lack of midfield depth and look to address that, i am sure if the club knew Gus would be forced to retire we may have retained Harmes, or fought harder to keep Jordan, the outcome ultimately is that we lose 3 AFL level mids from our depth and look a bit thin behind the big names.

Unsure who specifically we might target but i'd guess we will at the very least be looking at the available mature age midfielders

199cm tall defender who's had some injury problems over the years. If injury hadn't impacted him the general consensus is that he could have been a top 20 pick. He's certainly got the talent.

Has only played the 2 coates league game so far this year.

Still think we need to add to our midfield depth.

Apparently has decent pace and turns in some pretty good 2km times for Sandy.

Voss '...has his suitors higher than Melbourne...'.

Regarding him, and other possibles, the only downside of our ladder leap yesterday!

We are also interested in Saad El-Hawli from the Northen Bullants.

Few Casey boys in the noms. Tom Highmore and Nathan Philactides there too.

The top 5 choices for me are

Geordie Payne. Tassie under 18s

Riley collier-Dawkins.  Williamstown VFL

Trent Bianco.  Footscray VFL

Max Hall  Box Hill Hawks

Noah Howes  Sth Adelaide  SANFL

and my wildcard is

Oscar Van Dam.  Tassie under 18s …  Love his name and he’s a good young footballer too

Surely we must pick up M.White he has been kicking [censored] in a weak team. If another team picked him up it would be a slap in the face for the MFC.

Nice snag, if he's half as good as Saad or Houli he'll be a player

Not nominated. He's been dominating at Casey for years, if he wanted to push to re-enter the AFL system he'd have likely done it by now. His body didn't stand up when he played AFL.

Bring him in!

Your handle is a perfect nickname should we draft him in.

Wonthaggi boy Jack Hutchinson is expected to be picked early in the mid year draft.  Now at Collingwood VFL this year, his “Schwartz like” high marking has been a highlight and he’s a capable key forward goalkicker.  Likely the Eagles or Hawks might call out his name.

I'm not sure about a "lack of midfield depth", we've been successfully running ANB, Pickett and Salem through there this year. Sparrow hasn’t spent as much time as usual in there as a result. A VFL player is not going to push ahead of those 4 and Laurie, especially when it gets down to our pick in the order. We'd be better off going for a high reward, high risk speculative pick. We don't need more foot soldiers.

It's very clear at VFL level we are missing 1 or 2 big bodies around the ball after the retirements of Dunstan and Moose. Extra support at VFL level will help our younger players grow and will improve Casey overall.

why are you comparing him to other Muslim players. Is it the style of his game??
