POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Hawthorn

Featured Replies

A very good team effort against an opponent that played a very old style gameplan.

The Lever interview was perhaps a little worrying in that it sounded like he's resigned to missing a couple of weeks but he's glad it's not more.

We have some gorilla forwards coming up in the next few weeks so Petty may be spending some time down back.

Great to see Fritsch with a bag and two goals by Chandler at key times

We did what we were expected to do.
Our defence was outstanding given the adversity. Whilst Tmac looked like a b triple chasing Chip, Hore stepped up and Howes did some nice things too.
Fritsch tightened up after a quick start by Sicily, to finish with 5 was a great effort owning the Hawks skipper.
Petrraca is a gun, and as those above have mentioned, he was a class above. Kozzie also looked a class above in the small forward role.
and lastly kudos to the recruitment team - billings and Windsor provide skillful quick transition which only helps our forwards.

Tough run of games coming up. Hopefully the other players pull up ok and May & Lever can get right and come back in sooner rather than later.

The Hawks kicked one goal with May and Lever off the ground

At Halftime they would have given themselves a sniff

Jimmy Stynes played with Broken Ribs….

Yeah, a poor effort by May not to get back on the field and instead take the easy way by ambulance. #culture.

Hawthorn thought they were playing soccer in the first quarter.

MFCSS: finally resolve forward-line issues. Later that day, injury disrupts forward-line issues resolution.

Chippin around chippin around..

If umps had awarded holding the ball at all against BOTH teams it would have flowed more and I reckon a 75 point win.

It's a bittersweet win but it is against Hawthorn.

We're second on the footywire ladder.

Great win all things considered. Disco Turner may need to step up

Well I suppose he might when he comes off the injury list in about 5-6 weeks.

You were giving me and about 30 other Dees fans severe depression with your overreaction. A few weeks is concerning but the overreaction is out of control.

And Maysie.

Gee we couldn't have got Petty and Tmac back in on time. And we recruited Hore.

Let's hope it's all nothing too bad.

I really hope it is an over reaction but I’m not so sure

Hawthorn are a steaming pile of poo.

Agree, had ACL tendencies

I just saw him on the club video smiling and singing the song. Didn't seem like It to me

For mine it’s got ACL written all over it

How bad is our medical team that they would send a player with a suspected ACL to do run throughs and strap him up hoping he can get back on, in round 3 🙄

Backline options

TMac

Tomlinson

Petty Back

Hore

Max to drop back

Bowey and Turner both injured

Loved Maxy’s hand pass to a wide open Spaz in the forward 50 who goaled, and Max nonchalantly ran to the bench (for less of a cheer than Clarry or Trac got)

Your knee can feel quite ok until you try and turn, his run through didn’t feel good clearly. He’s done it twice and it was innocuous last time.

he said the doctors don't think its too serious. they do pretty emphatic tests for ACL these  days.

There was nothing ACL alluding in Levers movement. Anyone care to explain why they think this?

Look at melkshams. The jerk upon tear was so much more significant. To me it looks like a twist to miniscus.

Did they send him to do run throughs last time?
There is a very specific ACL test they do. It’s either negative, positive or inconclusive like it was with Gawn last year. An inconclusive test would be treated as an ACL.
