We did what we had to when required, in the face of a scruffy opposition and hot and cold umpiring. Trac, however, was consistently a class above.

A win is a win is a win and a strong finish is what good teams do.

PS  I think the Fox commentators may have given Hawthorn the 4 points !

What a smashing

What team can lose their two best defenders and not even blink

Petracca has moved up a level somehow. BOG by a mile

Hawks chip, chip, chip and we still had 20+ more tackles.
Trac’s work rate was off the charts.

Go you Demons !!!

Great win all things considered. Disco Turner may need to step up

Shame none of them were rewarded.

One of the more complete games you'll see from Christian Petracca. 29 touches 7 clearances, a goal, 11 score involvements.

And that effort tracking back to spoil! The game was done and dusted be he wasn't!

Lever said not a whole lot about what's up with his knee, getting a scan, maybe a week or two.  He's more worried about May.

I missed the game. How bad were the injuries?

May went to hospital at half time. Looks like he broke some ribs. Lever said he has something with his knee cap, it doesn’t sound mega serious but might miss some games. Petty swung back and looked like he’d never left.

5 star Fritschy. Kossie all class.

Petty moved well and showed no ill effects. great to see

Trac was immense. clarry excellent as well

hope May ok but looks like broken ribs which will be 6-8 if confirmed.

love beating the Hawks. 6 years and counting.

go dees

I think our ball movement has taken a massive step forward. Using different angles to get those handballs to running players and trying to get through the middle more. Looking good!

Petty moved better than expected and lucky he played.

Great win considering our injuries and a very annoying opponent…we look much classier with our ball use so far this season

We had no passengers

Great to watch

Go Dees

Disco is injured. Not too worried with Petty, TMac, Hore and Tommo to cover. Hore can play that interceptor role

What's Gerald Healy's problem? Did we push him out or something?

Also, currently searching online for a novelty jumbo sombrero to eat re. Tomald showing composure and restraint down back.

The Hawks kicked one goal with May and Lever off the ground

At Halftime they would have given themselves a sniff

Jimmy Stynes played with Broken Ribs….

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
