Saturday March 16 vs Coburg @ 12:00 PM - Casey Fields

This game should provide us with some insights as to the final lineup vs the Bulldogs on Sunday.

MFC players likely to play in the game are Jed Adams, Kynan Brown, Kyah Farris-White, Matthew Jefferson, Andy Moniz-Wakefield, Josh Schache, Oliver Sestan, Adam Tomlinson, Will Verrell, Taj Woewodin plus those not in Sunday’s final 23 plus any holdover player (s).

A decent mix of promising youth and sage experience out at Casey Fields Saturday PM.

Obviously the last encounter between these teams was heavily skewed the dogs way due to ‘selection issues’. Expect a more closely fought encounter this time.

Given the matinee time slot, Roan Steele should get the casting call to  appear in a leading role on the rehearsal sound stage.

 Tardis obviously needs a fine tune. Saturday's encounter is against the Piranha Park Lions!

Interesting that our two scratch matches have been against stand alone teams.

Wonder if it is the same for other Melbourne AFL teams or does no one like us !

Thanks KC look forward to getting some updates during the game.😁

I might be able to get there!

From Coburg X or twitter or whatever it is these days.

COBURG V CASEY PRACTICE MATCH 1/4 scores Coburg: 25 Casey: 34

Jeffo actually doing well in defenve. Thommo just gotrun dowm, but a cut abobe in this level, Brown dog busy, Petty hasnt touched it

Thx again Mr Fence... legend 👍🏼 👏🏼

Great to hear Moniz is potentially hitting some noteworthy form.

Hopefully the extra pre-season with gym & a bit of experiemce is having the desired outcome 🤞🏼

Petty in the ruck.   My gosh.  No way i'd have him playing there coming back from a foot problem.  Just leave him as a KF

And with so many ruck options too (Shack, Ferris Wheel & Fullcream).  Absolutely no need to risk Petty here.

Hopefully it was only one or two contests and then straight to forward role afterwards!??

If Kol is Koltyn Tholstrup no he isn’t. He’s the carry over emergency for tomorrow.

Entertaining game here Coburg a goal in front Casey gone to sleep

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
