CASEY: Practice Match vs Coburg

Featured Replies

Coburg went 0-18 last year. I wonder if they’ve improved or we’re heading down the ladder?

Hopefully BBB can keep us afloat for a couple of weeks so as not to rush Petty.

Agree BBP no point rushing him back if hasn’t fully recovered, use Brown, Fullarton and TMac until he is cherry ripe.

Or neither, as it was a practice match.

Agree re Brown though. Petty looks like he needs more warming up rather than being thrust onto the G in 6 days’ time. If Brown (or JVR, if Brown helps him) plays well today, hopefully that eases the perceived pressure to rush Petty back in. Unfortunately the converse will be true.

Thankfully after yesterday’s very solid performances by the two “geriatric write offs” we won’t be pushed into anything rushed.

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG after a dismal performance in Gather Round to face the reigning dual Premiers Brisbane. What do expect to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
