NON-MFC: Round 01

Tigers dominating the centre clearances.

And smashing them in contested possessions also.

The Tiges need to play body-to-body more, and to nominate an backline interceptor like Lever. McKay and Curnow are being given a run and jump at too many balls.

Blues getting murdered at ground level. Taranto, Green and Dusty tearing them to pieces.

Not to make the non-MFC thread about us, but the speed teams are playing at this season is worrying.

I don't think we've got the capacity to adapt to this with our list and gameplan. Might be a long one this year.

Curnow is just so enjoyable to watch. Will be an all time great. A true KPF.

Blues as good as they are offensively as they never win a flag without another KPD.

Haven't capitalized on it though.

Carlscum playing Demon Football

Dominating everywhere except the Scoreboard

Why does ump 23 have red hands?

Thought the Tiges held em off very well considering the time in possession & number of entries i50

Poor conversion by the Blues. I hope they rue their poor goal kicking at the end of the game.

He actually could be so much better. He's got very little craft or tact - he's all athleticism, footy IQ and skill. Obviously still enough to be just about the best forward in the comp but if you watch closely there's a lot he doesn't quite do that well

Close game but not the best quality.

Blues run forward of the ball way too much, Tigers get them on the counter when being a tad more defensive would help the Baggers (Not Goody level defensive).

Tigers hanging in when they shouldn’t be, Carlton too busy thinking they are world beaters.

More scuttlebutt about Petty going to the croweaters next year.

We can't even get him on the park.

Is it open season on Dees players?

At that size, to move the way he does, is just freakish. His marks stick and has great kicking technique. Takes the very best to take him out of the game.

The half time reporter from Adelaide just said that Harrison Petty is almost certain to be wearing Crows jumper next season.

  • GAMEDAY: Richmond

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the ‘G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

  • NON-MFC: Round 7

Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
