Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

And he's right about this.

just remember Goodwin has acknowledged that it is a problem you cannot deny that.

As mush as I hate stats with a passion we had 37 more inside 50's than the pies and lost and you don't think there is a problem with connection with the forward line?

Let me just put this here...

The FD obviously know there is an issue as Goody has consistently stated.

No one here has their red and blue patches on...we all know we have a forward line issue.

Dermott is no genius and all your banging on doesn't change it.

...but it's not an easy fix otherwise it would have already been done.

it's breathtakingly lazy from derm, although not surprising. the real story out of this game is that a swans midfield, minus Mills, Adams, and Parker smashed us at contested ball, clearances and ALL of the stats our mids pride themselves on. I don't see that happening too many times this season and would suggest the dogs mids are going to cop the response.

Liberatore, Bontempelli and Trevor, fed by English? I don’t think so. They could well beat us on Sunday.

So you didn't answer my question that's OK...

Read and comprehend what I've said a number of times.

I've answered your questions.

I get annoyed at your constant misquoting, like where have I ever said we don't have a forward issue?

Ah getting testy so you still don't want to answer, here's the solution.

1. Don't reply ever.

2. Block me.

Yes. I take issue with the word "refuse" in the SEN headline. Just because we can't fix a problem doesn't mean we've refused to address it.

What forward has actually realistically been available for trade or at our draft picks? For all I know, we've tried.

If you think the FD don't know this and haven't tried to fix the problem you've got rocks in your head.

Every one can bang on about it as much as they want but what is the answer.

You can't make an in contract player just decide to come to us.

The only proven out of contract KPF available over the last few years was BBB and we got him.

Some other contracts have come up but their clubs know their value and have made it near impossible to pry them away.

It's difficult to understand why Hogan and that other guy went West then.

Tip..they didn't want to play for the MFC.

And then there's Grundy and likely Petty

Not difficult at all. They were both lured home (by Fremantle) and for family reasons. "The other guy" worked out for Fremantle, Hogan didn't and still wasn't happy. He had a navicular stress fracture and mental health issues that didn't help.

Kane Cornes on Sunday Footy Show said “Max gets roughed up and doesn’t fight back and his teammates don’t help him.”

Pretty accurate IMO.

I think Max needs to show it doesn't effect him in a negative way.

If he lifts to another level then I can't see teams trying it on any longer.

Unfortunately it works and they will keep doing it.

Someone mentioned it and it may have been you 'Red' but if they try and body him he should come in with a raised knee.

A few of them around the ribs will soon make you back off.

As for around the ground there isn't a lot teammates can do, maybe the odd block here and there.

I would definitely look at targeting an opposition player for the same treatment though...

The AFL will get sick of the look soon enough and change the rules, that will suit us anyway.

I hope some of your ideas come to fruition. But unfortunately its not a simple task. Players are predominantly coming with knocks to Max from behind of from the side meaning he's blind sided. They're doing this as their running past, not bee lining so its hard for team mates to read this and help protect him. If he were a forward it would be easier. You can block for him but because its across the ground usually getting from contest to contest its hard for us to use/sacrifice a player to remonstrate or help out. I certainly hope next game this happens that we see more consequences for this action via his team mates letting the opposition know when we can without getting thrown off our game.

Max isn't really missing Grundy as much as he's certainly missing Jackson. This didn't happen nearly as much when Jackson was playing as a dynamic ruck/forward/mid.

Its going to be hit or miss but hopefully one of the two occur soon:

1. Fullarton shows enough to provide even 60% of what Jackson did as a lead up forward/ruck

2. Petty comes back in to release JVR to play more ruck as someone who could be effective around the contest and marking across the ground

Otherwise its going to be an incredibly long season for Maxy...

I really Believe Goodwin has run his race

1 Hasn't addressed our forward entry issues

2 Got rid of Grundy

3 Have not solved our Glaring need for a Big aggressive forward

4 Has no plan B much less C

5 Is a average to poor matchday coach

6 Plays favourites even when underdone or seriously out of form

We FLUKED a premiership by any definition and since then have stagnated

I think that about covers it

We were the best team in 2021 by a long way, no flukes about it. @picket fence

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
