Vulnerability Post... I have very dark thoughts when I read Collingwood supporters still commenting that "Brayshaw stepped into Maynard" (it was Brayshaws fault), that Brayshaw was already concussed from a previous knock (not Maynards hit), that Melbourne doctors should have already taken him off (Melb doctors fault), that "he shouldn't have been allowed to play anyway".

Please help me.

I want to do bad things

PS Angus to be our runner - you've heard it here first

I've seen worse.

Some commenting on his speech during the Brownlow.

I still maintain the idea of hiring a manure truck for a special delivery to thug #4 house.

It  could be just the consquence of their cheering Maynard when Gus was laid out.  Having made one moral error, it is common to double down on it evenif you realise you were in the wrong.  Maybe they feel guilt in their heart of hearts and are trying to supress the emotion.   On the other hand, maybe they are sociopaths.

The way the Pies filth insist Melbourne mistreated Gus, or Gus brought it upon himself, and their darling thug was in no way at fault makes them sociopaths.

Just tell them if Gus' retirement was our fault, then Murphy's retirement was their fault. Simple.

I do blame Collingwood for Murphy, a) Maynard pushing him into McCarthy’s path, b) who was the [censored] at Collingwood who allowed Murphy full contact training in the preseason which allowed him to yo be tackled/concussed by Daicos?

One cut away to the Melbourne table focused on Max and he looked very emotional listening to one of his best mates reliving the pain of the last six months.

Like others here, I hope that if not heartfelt that Maynard now has a fleeting acknowledgment of the turmoil that is now Angus' life. I will always "boo" Maynard if only silently and my booing will encompass the Club he plays for and its supporter base. I feel that they are all culpable in some way given the way the supporter base cheered Maynard as Gus was stretchered off and no acknowledgment from either the player or the Club as to wretched end of Gus's career. I understand that there will never be that acknowledgment given the possibility of legal ramifications.  No matter, my disgust of this Club and its supporters only grows.

Gus may have moved on but I haven't.

Nicely said.

Maynard will be foreever remebered for his act taking out Gus. Oh yeah - he played for collingwood too.

Duncan Wright complained in old age how hard he was done by for the john sommerville punch.

Stiff mate. Maynard will have similiar thoughts ongoing, and if he hasn't, then he's lying.

Sleep well.

The other thing I like to say to Collingwood fans is “I don’t know why you idolise Maynard so much, he lost you the 2018 grand final”. They don’t like that.

I think of doing very bad things to them.

Its hard because mentally there is no brain there amongst them, so it only leaves physical options.

Fair issue raised. Denigrating the honour of Collingwood fans is like trying to barge down an open door.

If you called them a worthless sack of [censored] they'd be proud of the sack.

it annoys me how she felt the need to slip the other stuff in that is irrelevant to the story

What also really annoys me is how our playing group has let Maynard off - we all know what I am talking about. It really is enough to cruel my desire to continue a membership, a fact I think I might convey to membership/Pert. I think it’s really poor and disrespects Gus - Wilson even states the club is saddened at the manner of his departure and last game - would it be too much to focus some attention on the cause?

Hope he can get back on the golf course soon - from any injury/insurance law types here, I’d love to know why his impending settlement precludes any exercise (the lack of which in and of itself is injurious both physically and mentally)

I agree with this comment 100%, made in the Age article linked above. It is disgusting that players were given a license to assault other players by the AFL. The AFL manufactured a flag for the pies. image.png.5ec2f76c96f72b042c83e12e604d346c.png

And we're being royally screwed by the AFL with the salary cap carrying the load of Gus' contract.

I think there are still things you can take out of it.

I think this article helps at least explain that right now, Gus is still very crook.

To those that keep saying, oh yeah we should give him a role. We would if he could but he can't right now.

It's not about the club offering him anything.
That offer to assist has been there since day dot.
He can't even have a round of golf or enjoy a night at the Brownlow with some of his best mates.
It's incredibly sad.
Lot's of love to Gus and his family.
I hope he finds his health and his groove again.
Just a wonderful bloke.

It's been a huge loss. It was crushing on the night it happened and it still seems to be very hard for his team mates.

It looked like Gawn was very upset at the Brownlow during his speech.

Anyways, time to listen to the wisdom and insight of Selwood, Hamish and BT on Seven.

Happy granny day everyone

yes a very strange/odd/wierd  and really unforgivable reaction to the whole situation I thought and then trac goes and gets piled into and the subsequent aftermath with Trac, its still all an elephant in the room situation for me

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
