Disgusted with how our preseason has gone?

Disgusted?

For pete's sake we've had one player get pinged last season (the news came out post season).

And with clarry, the club has handled a tricky situation super well and he has gone off and worked his backside off to get into AFL level shape.

The club has reintegrated him super well and  a player  many feared might take months to get back, IF AT ALL, is in the frame for round one selection.

Huge tick to clarry and the club.

Gus has had to retire through no fault of his own - or the clubs.

And we've had a handful of bog standard injuries, none from mismanagement as far as I'm aware.

All that after was generally accepted to be a successful trade and drafting period.

And that disgusts you?

Seriously, get a grip.

And perhaps turn of SEN, get off twitter, put down the hun and stop slavishly buying into the media's hysteria theatre.

The worst thing about this preseason for me is our supporters going at each others throats before an official game has even started - absolutely mind boggling

If I was coach I’d be plastering the walls with all the doom and gloom commentary and urging our boys to prove the doubters (of which their seem many) wrong

If we have a half decent run with injury this year I can’t see why we still can’t make finals - possibly even top 4 and then it’s anyones flag

Some people here are clearly too young to remember the bad old days or are simply naive enough to think we can deliver a flag every year in an incredibly tough competition

Re: 'our culture is totally broken' / 'Goodwin is some kind of egomaniac crackpot' / our consecutive top 4 finished are a mark of failure' / etc etc

I see the lines repeated constantly and it is very irritating. Surely by now Roost It and a couple of others can accept that the effect of "incrementally smaller increases in perceived truth for each additional repetition" has taken hold and they are wasting their own time almost as much as they are wasting everyone else's.

No I’m not. When there’s this much public strife at an organisation someone has to take responsibility. I just want someone at the club to stand up. It won’t happen because there’s a softness to the whole joint.

Just how much power do you think the club has to delve into players personal lives?

That forgoes any mention of the other troubles you know have been around the club for at least a year. Who's actually got their head in the sand?

Well done mate, you keep making my point about being unable to take any criticism.

You choose to attack me every time I post and yet all you are is an apologist for everything that goes wrong.

If you think nothing is wrong, you're a fool. Go and look at the last two years, our off-field is no good and unstable clubs do not win flags.

Well then 17 clubs are unstable then, since only 1 club won the flag, what the hell are they all doing not winning finals, you are really a gullible fool aren't you, why don't you go to Collingwood and  follow them, and let me remind you're about. Collingwood preseason in 2023,  Jordan de goey was facing being traded to another club, because of ill discipline and bad behavior, another player called guinnaven was caught in a picture snorting drugs, and was suspended, so he was doing the same thing as Smith, just not in game week, and they went on to win the flag, our preseason this year and their preseason  last year is almost identical. Why is one culture said is bad and the other culture was never mentioned. Really go away fake supporter, if you aren't behind us in our lows then you don't deserve to be there in our highs.

You might want to tone down your abusive language and personal attacks on other posters, @marieisademon.

This is a forum, a vehicle for an exchange of views.  Not everybody will have the same opinions.

If there’s going to be a one hit wonder, it’s clearly going to be the MFC. Sure enough we win a premiership away from our heartland in a year where we absolutely stood up as a club, thus denying the majority of members the experience of a lifetime.

Watching a premiership in a draconian lockdown with sub standard Channel 7 commentary ain’t nothing on what Bulldogs and Richmond supporters got to experience in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

I reckon a lot of today’s angst stems from Victorian, NSW, ACT and QLD based member missing the experience of a life time and they’re concerned they might never see a flag in attendance at the MCG, or at least share the experience with family and friends in a suitable environment.

No I would never drive those big stupid trucks, but you know what I can tell something about you, I bet you've been divorced at least two or three times, because you got no backbone, and you don't stand by anybody, you're probably a  slippery backstabbing kind of guy

C’mon, please drop “supporters support”. It’ll complete bingo.

Didn’t Port go straight sets two years in a row before winning in 04? Anyway, they certainly lost home finals before winning the flag and they must’ve been under intense scrutiny in Adelaide heading into 04. Just shows anything can happen.

Difference between us and Dogs was that we were the best team all year, they were the best team of the finals.

They did it for 4 weeks, we did it for 26.

That does not matter Premierships are not won with asterisks or SP comments. Ask our 1948 heroes and any Bombers fan still alive!

Does anyone count the Hawks 2008 to be associated with the 2013,4,5 dynasty flags?  Should be really as they were other than 2009 I think in the Finals ( Correct me if I am wrong please? )

On second thoughts how about what you ( and 300,000 other Demon fans ) and I at Optus Stadium on 25/09/21 were thinking at the 19 minute mark of the 3rd quarter?

Certainly not a dynasty or how we got out of that little hole with a bang bang bang twice split by the Brayshaw heroics.

And that’s why I will never rule out our Club  while we have champions like Trac, Clarry JV and Gawny plus a guy that kicked 6 goals in a GF. Oh and a stellar defense for the ages with 2 other champs!!

Just remember Round 23 vs Cats 2021 44 pts down and vs Brisbane Round 18 or last season 27 pts down  in final quarter 7/8 mins in. Both those efforts are not flukes as were against Top4 teams who have been around for 5 years or more!

There is half a dozen or more new Demons waiting their chance to join our other 15 heroes to make another chapter in our history. How really do we know how well they will gel in this mix in 2023. Might just be as surprising as much as many are already predicting disappointing. That’s the great  thing about sport no guarantees as those 2 examples of Demon heroism and magic in 2021 and 2023.

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
