PREGAME: Practice Match vs Carlton

Demonland

Recommended Posts

Now without Brayshaw and Smith, Ben Brown and T Mac on semi retired list and so many injured . Getting a bit jumpy on our list preparedness for the season opening.

Sorry, my apologies. 6:40pm local yes agreed.

From the previous posts, and when I framed my response, the AFL game was supposed to be at 10:30. I give up!!

Yes - the Herald Sun is quoting Max that Clarry will play with the VFL team on Wednesday morning, the objective being to ensure that he’s cherry ripe to return and to do so over the long term. I’m good with that and hope he’s not ruled out for Round Zero.

In a separate report in the Herald Sun:-

WHO DIDN'T PLAY IN MATCH SIM: Tall Tom McDonald (calf), winger Lachie Hunter (calf) and Charlie Spargo (achilles) missed against Richmond but hope to play against Carlton.

Harrison Petty was also absent due to toe soreness, with the Demons to monitor him in the next few days. Taj Woewodin (concussion) and Andy Moniz-Wakefield (thigh) are both expected to be available to face Carlton.

WHO WILL UP THEIR MINUTES: Key men

Clayton Oliver and Christian Salem both played in the back end of the seven periods against Richmond and will be watched closely as they push to play in Opening Round. Max Gawn also just played one half.

WHO IS A WHILE OFF: Shane McAdam has had an interrupted pre-season and looks likely to miss the Carlton game due to calf tightness.

Daniel Turner (leg stress fracture), Ben Brown (knee), Tom Fullarton (hamstring), Jake Melksham (knee) are also out. Angus Brayshaw has retired.

With Gus retired we really need Clayton back to his best.

But I also am mindful of the fact that he needs to go at his own pace and not allow pressure and expectations to build. I'm sure he's too smart to read DL.

I just hope he gets back to enjoying footy and so do all his teammates.

This is going to be a tough year but this is a tough group of players too.

I hope we show the media up big time and dominate the season.

Really hoping for a big,big year from Jvr and Kozzie.

I'd also like us to bury the Blues because these pretenders were lucky to beat us by shocking goal kicking, bad umpiring and us losing the plot in the last 60 seconds.

So nothing less than an unimportant ten goal win thanks.

And now I’m really [censored] off because it’s going to conflict with the Matilda’s Olympic qualifying game that starts at 8pm, and my oldest son had already claimed the spot on the TV, so we’ll only get to watch half the AFL match on the TV and half on the mobile or iPad.

How could the club have not known that there would be a conflict? 10:30am was a much more sensible option!!

Fullerton playing VFL.

Very impressive recovery by the big man considering he was facing 2 months on the sidelines.

I am sick and tired of D/Lers blaming the MFC media ad nauseam.

Some here had tasteless potshots over the last day. If they had looked at the Training schedule released today was the return after a break. So if no news exists no news is given especially no Club updates.

On another level some D/Lers on here seem to reckon that they are privileged and entitled to extra news, inclusion, etc from the Club. As if for having the privilege to vent their feelings and opinions in this forum it gives the opportunity for extra Club to shower them with exclusive content etc. Others are “I have given $xxx and ….you know the lines.

We are all passionate fans and of course are different but this forum is really for getting some things off your chests and also sharing in the highlights of our footy and gloating occasionally or being frustrated or angry on others. It provides a great opportunity but we are not owed any more than the other fans that choose to be more private.

BTW Kent still don’t see the point in publishing a list of TBC, it served not one persons information in the least.  May as well put the iconic 4-6 weeks if you thought it funny or sending a message!

Well mate the way to fix it as I tried to say is that the club actually publish the real situation

It's a joke and all your inane statements are meaningless

Trust the ‘pine’ at ikon is not as shabby as the old stand, Royal Parade side next to the 2001 Space Odyssey Black Obelisk. Otherwise somebody could get splinters and be abducted by aliens if they seek medical attention.

from a graphic design friend...

1. It's hard to read, even on a large screen. Both the size and the compact font are a bad rookie choice.
2. There's WAY too much empty space
3. Where are the positions?
4. What time is the match?
5. They put Carlton's logo on the graphic but not Melbourne's
6. The emergency list is TINY
7. Don't use that serial killer font, no one can read it on a small screen and we're not in high school
8. It's BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD

Once again the club’s top goal scorer but he had a few uncharacteristic flat spots during the season and the club will be looking for much better from him in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
