Looking pretty good for someone who tore his ACL In August.

Might see him playing in the VFL in July maybe.

Hope he makes it back.We could use him  in Sept.

Might also come in handy taking a few boys under his wing as a mentor.  His training standards have always been top class, and (dare i say it) he can punch above his weight….

The thought of Tmac trying to bite of yet another high risk kick from defence and giving straight back to the oppo gives me cold sweats.

For anyone thinking he would be a good option down back please remember the reason he went forward in the first place - it was last chance saloon for him because he was such a turnover merchant down back.

Tmac was gonski if he couldn't make it as a forward.

Also Tmac has never been quick or super agile.

Lack of pace and agility for a key defender is a killer and he ain't got any quicker or agile since 2018.

That said a good swing man option.

Exactly what I was thinking. He is too much of a liability down back. Don't understand this move at all.

Just a little insight Werridee into what to notice about what Melksham is training at, his demeanour and what he perhaps isn't doing now? I know i'm late, and take your time tomorrow or whenever please.

He was kicking the footy with Petty. He was doing straight-line work nothing too strenuous. His demeanor was good as WCW said expect him to be playing at Casey halfway through the year.

Tom needs to string some games together playing free from expectation. Take some marks. Rack up some touches. I doubt anyone is expecting him to play CHB in the AFL side any more than they are expecting him to play CHF any time soon.

Much better to give him a physical and mental change up than to do nothing and hope he suddenly discovers form again.

The thinking is obviously that it would impact Jefferson’s development too much.

He can’t progress and improve if he’s never targeted because he’s in the land of the giants forward line at Casey alongside Brown, Schache, McDonald, Fullarton and Joel Smith.

He’s been a terrific servant to the footy club TMac and is a favourite of mine but, bluntly, he’s now clearly past his best and is purely on the list as depth. Whether he plays forward or back is now immaterial for us and only affects Casey.

Won’t happen in ‘24. McStay went down today with an ACL. (I don’t wish that on anybody.)

TMac can kick straight usually so good for goal. Not good at judging distance so turned it over consistently down back. Getting to be time for the next gen anyway.

And lastly Tim Lamb was walking around the boundary with a big tall kid – who else but Kalani White. Looks like he was there for a bit of a meet and greet / orientation of sorts as he was introduced to Andrew McQualter.

By the time Kalani is ready for us the AFL will have changed the father son rule and we’ll have to give up a decade of 1st round picks to access him

I’ve got one… are you the invisible man? Coz I must’ve asked at least six blokes if they were Werridee. The looks I got! Given that the number of spectators peaked at no more than 20, if that - and that’s including Jess Gawn and bubba George - I can’t see how I missed you. Shame because I had my *best 22 haircuts for you. Maybe next time.

* Kolt didn’t even make the bench 🤭

I expected Schache to be back at the start of the year but they have given it to McDonald. Good opportunity for McDonald.

Back - meaning in defence, back on the bench unused, back at Casey?.

Only one player in any team (and happens to be Collingwood) to whom I would wish any serious injury and I guess we all know which piece of scum that is.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
