what’s going on with Tayla?!

Late change. It was gonna be Campbell out.

Apparently Tayla hurt her hammy at training.

Shame about Tayla. We all know what happened last time she missed!

Still, we've never been in a better position to try to cover her.

Harris hasn’t looked her best so maybe good to have a spell.

needs to get the anger back

Just read hamstring for Tay Tay on one of those news sites. Picked up at training this week - anyone know anything - do we need to freak out

Unfortunately I won't see the game - I'm still blinded by the sunset at Frankston on Friday night.

That was shocking on TV to try and watch. Not a good time to schedule a game. And top it off the camera crew must have been the work experience kids that day, so often they were no where near where the ball was when filming the game.  it was off to the right or left of the frame out of sight so often.

She was fine at training on Tuesday till right at the end when she lay on the ground and one of the trainers started working on her leg, giving it a bit of a stretch and test.  Hopefully it's not too bad...... 🤞

Losing Tayla is bad news, hopefully it will be just the one week, we definitely want her back for the next game against Adelaide.

One concern I have for the Geelong game is that it is our third short week (six day break) in a row.  The men often say two short weeks is a problem.  It's not a question of fitness and running out of steam, but compounded short recovery time takes the edge off - you aren't as sharp, reflexes a bit slower, etc.

Geelong only have 5 days between games, so hopefully it is not a huge issue.

Game day! Looking forward to this one. Great way to kick off the long weekend.

The boys struggle in Mordor but I back the girls to get it done this evening. Geelong have improved as their results show but we’re a step up in class for them. They’ll challenge early but our quality will tell in the finish.

dees by 25 points.

If you are looking for the match on Fox Footy 504, it's not there. Nor is it on 503.  As I was hyperventilating,  I spotted it on 505!

A rare occurrence, but much happier now. This men's GF build up is so disruptive to us true believers. 😈

For those of us that can't make it.

As I understand it history has tended to show, at least with the men, that a single five day break is not usually a problem, but consecutive six day breaks can be.  Hopefully, though, all will be well.......

Im very pleased for you, Viper. You're in for a treat, even if the result doesn't go our way (wash my mouth out!) Do some barracking for me, then, you and the offspring, while I'm laid up here on the other side of the planet.

Why would you say even if the result doesn't go our way?  The treat  is our magnificent form and if we get beaten the treat most likely won't be a treat!!

Cos I like washing my mouth out 😄

Part of the same character trait that kept me being a Dees supporter for those 57 years!

Beautiful day in Geelong. Pumped for tonight!!!! GO DEES! ❤️💙

Betting $1.14 to $5.50!

Crikey! Really? (not that I should be letting this tawdry aspect of modern sport into my appreciation of the still relatively pure experience of women's football and our glorious team in it...)

Bloody handy highlight reel from Maddi Gay. Also her birthday today!

Always loved the way Maddi Gay goes about her footy. She's as hard as a cat's head

Home strip. Nice!

second to the ball so far. cats bringing it early. girls need to left

Goldy and lack of forward pressure both frustrating me so far. Need to settle down and win some contests

Commentators wouldn’t recognise a push in the back if they copped one themselves

who is the female commentator cheer leading for the cats. she's a nuffie.

  • GAMEDAY: Western Bulldogs

It's Game Day and the Demons will be running out on the field with a new Head Coach, albeit a caretaker, for the first time in 3,060 days when they face the Western Bulldogs at the MCG today. What do you want to see from the Demons in the first match of the Post Simon Goodwin era?

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
