Great game.

Swinging momentum, feel Pies just on top with ball use, but Lions keeping in it.

Lets hope Lions finish strong 💪

Let's hope so Roy Boy 🤞

Very enjoyable game. momentum swings and plenty of quality.

just hope the Lions can get it done in the second half.

As much as I dislike Collingwood they have played in some pretty entertaining grand finals over the past 15 years.

Their losing ones have been entertaining 😀.

Fagan would be frustrated with those 2 goals on the siren after each quarter. Can't let it happen again.

With Murphy off surely that hurts there backline & the Brisbane forwards should dominate

I think it’s time for the AFL to ditch all pregame and halftime entertainment.

King Stingray would have been awesome.

Or Amyl and the Sniffers

Richo agrees with you. He was wearing an AatS T-shirt while interviewing KISS.

Mark Seymour and the Holy Grail AGAIN.. I love Hunter and Collectors, but the AFL need to learn from the NRL.

Brisbane’s defensive system (or lack of it), just can’t get their head around Collingwood’s corridor game run from transition. It’s like they’ve paid zero attention to the way Collingwood play. Then again, apart from Quaynor, Maynard and Moore, Collingwood’s defensive 6 are bog ordinary, and Bris get to score frequently from inside 50 entries. So what we have is a high-scoring GF. Anyone’s game from here I guess, but if the umps keep paying high tackle frees for Nick Daicos, that’ll get them there.

Surprised we haven’t seen Eddie’s fat head so far 🤔

Oh, we will, we will, especially if they are up with 10 mins to go

All about him and timing

Don’t mind the Hunters & Collectors Guy!

Hate to say it but the ducking player is bloody good.

Will this be the Hill or Cameron show?

Hill by a fair way so far.

Have to stop young Daicos or else.

I don’t mind them either but that performance and Kiss pre game did nothing to enhance the match day experience in my opinion.

Kozzi had an average year but has still kicked 10 more goals than hill

Yep, Hill turns it on beautifully on his day but the thing about Pickett is even on his poorer days he still matters.

Goalless games: Pickett 3, Hill 5

Multiple goal games: Pickett 12,  Hill 7

Pickett brings double the tackles inside 50 and goal assists, too.

By recognising Hill as an excellent small forward, we can remind ourselves that Pickett continues to be an absolute top shelf small forward even in a season he was a bit off his best and our forward structure resembled a live pig through a bacon shaver.

Hodge: “that’s a poor decision”

umpires are having a mare

Hodge seems to be the only one who’ll comment like this. The others go silent even though you know they agree with him.

Re Daicos, we had to listen to all the experts explaining why Toby Green didn’t get that head high free all week, you know he bent at the knees etc.  Then in the first half we have watched Daicos picking up head high frees at will as he drops the knees and leans in to the tackle!

Will yhe heat and a player down catch up with the pies.

I imagine big Joe will take a few marks inside 50 from here on.

Can't see a blow out though.

But pies haven't been the strongest of finishers.

Good point. Umps keep rewarding him though.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
