So with cox wearing glasses and the warm weather, surely sweat would be getting into his eyes and they'd fog up.

A good excuse for thumping someone I guess.

Does anyone know how much the Afl paid kiss? Can't find it on the internet. Just curious.

Whatever it is its probably more than the cost of modernising the goal post video equipment.

Pathetic rabble the AFL. Atleast we wont have to put up with Gil McLachlan after tomorrow.

Good riddance.

Can't wait until this gf is over and Brisbane better win so I can stop reading all these fluff pieces on Collingwood.

I mean Maynard last week and De Goey this week.

I’d like Cox to accidentally spoil Maynard attempting a regulation mark in the Collingwood goal square and watch as the Lions go coast to coast to kick the winner with 4 seconds left in the clock. That would bring me great joy.

Would it be healthy or maudlin if I watched the 2021 GF witth Dennis Cometti commentary.

This one hurts even more than last year... What a waste

That's what I'm doing. No idea why anyone but Pies or Lions fans would watch it.

I've structured my work arrangements so that I'm working for the entire match

Hoping that the Lions win but can't bear to watch Collingwood play at all - full stop!  I just detest them

Anyone painting? Good viewing (relatively) there, too.

Grass growing for mine, T. 😁

I’m not going to watch it but I’ll keep abreast of the score. Then if/when a Brisbane win is inevitable I’ll turn on the TV at the loudest volume, sit a few inches from the screen and drink it all in.

The Dees just won a game in Mordor. Absolutely sheeted it in.

Who cares about the GF?

For the life of me I can’t understand why any Melbourne supporter wouldn’t be interested in watching our W matches. There’s a Melbourne team absolutely carving up any and all opposition there for the viewing. A genius game-plan, 100% passion and dogged determination, a team displaying sublime skills and the tightest cohesion under a coach who pretends to be a coach but in reality is a wizard. 😁 All this in our beloved red and blue. Who wouldn’t be keen to come aboard?!?! Seriously, these players aren’t just amazing female players, they’re amazing players. Period.

I just hope that daniher and hipwood have their kicking boots on.

I just think Brisbane can kick the bigger score as they have more forward options.

It would be great if Fagan won to. A coach that never played at the highest level but had the smarts to coach smartly at the top level.

Also what a perfect way to shut up the critics about not being able to win on the G by knocking off the pies in the big one

Hands up all those who picked Jed Adams to be our entrant in the GF sprint.

I feel like a bad supporter, as I don’t even know who Jed Adams is. Not trying to be smart either. Genuinely had to look him up.

I'm thinking of changing my mobile number in case the Pies win.  I keep sending them pictures of Trac in beast mode in 2021 and asking them when they last won a flag.  I'm on thin ice

But, did you know despite being seen in general as a successful team, the Pies have only one 2 flags in 65 years? Still chokers. I hope Daniher kicks 10 goals

so you know, [censored] them

They deserve to be on a board EVERYONE sees. Personally I’ve never had so much fun going to the footy. They put smiles on faces. It warms the heart to see so many happy Dees fans, especially the little kids, of whom we’re seeing more and more each week.

Sadly, I think Collingwood wins tomorrow. 🤮🤮🤮🤮

But I really do hope I am wrong and Brisbane wins instead.

In reality, it should be Melbourne playing in the Grand Final at the MCG against whomever. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened.

Fingers crossed for next year! 🤞

Brisbane have to win so I can reply to some of these Collingwood fans on social media.

One Collingwood fan actually wrote he'd rather make these grand finals & even if they lose, than be a hawthorn who won 3 in a row then gone backwards.

Really? They haven't won a gf in 13 years & are you really proud to boast about it when your club has the most gf losses.

Don't get me wrong I wish we would make more gf and yes I'm annoyed that we have stuffed up our chances but I'll take 2021 than losing 2 hopefully 3 in the last 13 years.

You'll take 2021 over Geelongs last 10 years as well I guess?

That's as implausible as the Collingwood nonsense.

A flag in 1964 then 2021, then  a  "dynasty "..... 2 seasons  of straight sets  fails,

I mean seriously?

oh god. GF day

I honestly thought we’d be playing

the drinking will start early and i’ll cheer daniher and any other fukker i need to do the Lies losers

Sounds as though the drinking has already begun, Dub. 😁

From lions.com.au: Premiership Pride: Jonathan Brown 2003 Grand Final

……Following the first centre bounce for the afternoon, Browny was collected by Collingwood’s Scott Burns in the face and immediately fell to the ground.

He spoke at length to Lions TV, as part of the Premiership Pride series, about this defining moment so early in the game.

“I got to my feet and thought, geez this isn’t part of the script,” he said.

Bronwy was integral to the Lions’ game plan for a Lions victory that afternoon. After the hit, he vaguely remembers talking to the team doctor but admittingly was frazzled. He welcomed halftime, as his wobbly legs were about to give way.

“It was nice just to have a seat at half time,” he says.

The Lions’ medical staff took care of him but admits, by today’s concussion standards, he may not have been allowed to play on.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
