Nah...I want them destroyed in the manner of Sydney in last year's GF plus some. Give them a belting that will damage them psychologically for seasons to come.

Exactly, like the 2003 Grand Final. That was one of my favourite non-Melbourne games. Collingwood thought they were the big thing, went into the GF favourites after beating the Lions in the soaking wet in the Qualifying Final. That first quarter was absolute gold. It definitely affected them for the next two years, although they probably exaggerated their lower ladder position for draft picks (Pendlebury and Thomas).

Can't help but be super impressed with the way they go about it. Putting Port to the sword and they genuinely look like a premiership contender in my opinion.

They should absolutely dare to dream because they play a brand that is well equipped on the big stage.

I mean watching Jesse Hogan in itself makes me depressed but I'm bloody happy for him and hope he gets success.

Toby Green, Josh Kelly and Lachie Whitfield are genuine stars of the competition

They're my go to team for the finals.

Maybe not the Giants per se, but I'm thrilled for Hogan and Bedford to be playing finals and performing well.  I was super peeved when we let Bedford go without a fight, but I doubt he'd have been given the chance under Goodwin that he's had up there and he's absolutely killing it, so good on him.

Lynch and Aker were kicking them from everywhere! Great to see.

I'd pay money to witness a repeat of that this year!

GWS all the way, now that they play like a team and not entitled prats happy for yhem to salute, and bravo to their fans that made the trek to SA, they must be pretty happy.

But that said this season has an asterix, dodgy ARC, insipid MRO & tribunals, four umpire farce. Gill really stayed a year too long. So I don't care as long as it's not Pies or Carlton, but you can't say this year's finals were set up on merit.

If it is Carlton vs Collingwood I'm not watching it!!

Neither. We normally have a bbq with friends and watch the grand final, but if it’s a Collingwood Carlton grand final I won’t even turn the tv on.

Unfortunately, Collingwood will be far too good for GWS.

We’ll have to wait for the Grand Final and Chris Fagan’s Lions to bring peace on the AFL’s earth.

I don’t think they will be. They play a fast attacking contested footy that the Pies don’t like. Pies missing Adams as well, making them even more vulnerable in the contest.
I am not saying GWS will definitely win, but they’re a strong chance IMO.

Me too, that Grand Final was bliss. Aker magic!

GWS are going to absolutely belt the Pies and most of their supporters don't even see it coming.

Can't wait to see their "oh [censored]" faces about half way through the second.

😎

Commentary team sound a little rattled too  🤣

Comeon GWS don’t let them back into it, shut those fools supporters down, no longer a one horse race a two horse gallop.!!

Jeez 1 point in it. Could they do it.!!!

Bugger.

Go Lions.

😉

I couldn’t possibly hate Collingwood any more than I do

YES

Desperately want a Lions v GWS grand final and wipe that smerk of disbelief off  Voss's face.

No  way Maynard goes after Mr Toby or any other player. They'd rip that dogs head off.

Melbourne are still  considered soft in some aspects otherwise Maynard wouldnt have slaughtered Brayshaw. Why didnt Melbourne make his game hell?

MFC have to shutdown all this social work nonesense. Ben Brown spent most of the season hanging with children. Hes the highest paid social worker in Australia on 650k ?

Shutdown Alice Springs and all that feel good nonesense that goes with it.

We look soft. Its  just a fact so get over it. If we dont toughen up we'll go out in straight sets again.

Holy mackeral

Lost no fans tonight.

Their skill level and ability to not fumble is far better than ours.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
