Big key Forward. Not having one is killing us in high pressure games

Collingwood should have lost last night, we blew a huge opportunity

Our connectivity (kicking) into the forwardline was deplorable too.

How do we remedy that conundrum as well? 🤔

We need more players who are excellent kicks and fantastic decision makers.

We need a player who can take Pack Marks.
that’s what we missed last night

Petty at CHF with Melksham beside him and Brayshaw playing 4 quarters and we win by a comfortable 4-6 goals. It's a cruel game and we've covered our injuries exceptionally well. Last night was a massive missed opportunity. I really hope we're switched on and blow the semi final opponent off the park in a cruel and brutal fashion.

24 hours later, and I am still annoyed.

However, we lost by 7 points and totally outplayed the Pies in the 2nd half. Are we ever that bad in front of goal 2 weeks in a row? I reckon we can turn it around. I still believe.

And I would love us to meet the Pies again in the GF.

Yeah even after last night I was thinking we are the team they would least like to meet in a GF.

Just feel it's a bit too far from us now. They'll have NDaicos primed and ready to go too

I think we have one in JVR. Our kids just need to learn how to deliver the ball to his advantage

He has 1-2 years of growth and learning.
We need to poach an experienced forward.
TMac has run his race..

We don’t or we can’t for the next 3 weeks we showed against St Kilda and Brisbane we need to rejig the forward line. Crows did it in 97 & 98 when Modra went down and lost form after returning from ACL.

Someone with forward craft will do, change up the midfield rotation and leave Petracca predominantly forward.

We need to try something different next Friday with our forward mix. If JVR is suspended Tmac stays to play back up ruck. Play a more mobile fwd line even if that means playing Tomo and fcs small fwds get front and centre.

Chandler    Tomo/Smith  Kossie

Trac            Tmac       Fritta

JJ will come in for Brayshaw and Petracca will go forward more. Both Sydney and Carlton have strong midfields so he'll still spend some time onball.

Yeah, it was horrible to watch Moore burn TMac for speed and mobility time and time again last night.
If we can find one, I agree, let’s go get one

How many games this year have we fought really hard to come back and win?

Why do we not play like this all day?

What is going on with a team tgat can't start well?

Is it a concentration or motivation issue.

Definitely the latter.  The Pies came out breathing fire and on the hunt.

While we were on the back foot yet again trying to shut them down.

That's 100% on Goodwin.  We have the processes and methods down pat...after that it comes down to building the boys up to be ready for a huge opening quarter bringing the white line fever.

Strong at and over the ball.... b lining the opposition if they get in the way.

That's the minimum you need to bring (mentally) for any huge final as big as last night.

Last night was a massive flop from the Coach down.  We came out unprepared (mentally) imv and the Pies just ripped the game off us in one quarter of fast break manic footy.

Was catch up all night thereafter.

Theme for a while.

Our touted Mids were all sound asleep thr first half.

Great 2nd half but just too late to come to the party.

I dont get Trac at all . Hes clearly an elite player but poor halves have been ongoing with him.

Pies did as they pleased.

Without Bowey and May it would have been much worse.

If a professional athlete needs his coach to "rev" him up before a QF against Collingwood in front of 92,000 fans its his problem not the coach. I actually think we expected it to just happen and then Gus goes off and bang, we're 4-5 goals down.

I would play Grundy rather than TMac

He was so far off it last night, a good solid career has come to an end

I once reported a Pies supporter at a QB game who was calling Nev Jetta a *insert incredibly insulting racist slur*

They said “we can’t do anything about what he says”

That’s what happened to me last night. I was told to find somewhere else to sit. Really, really helpful. They couldn’t have given a toss.

I was wondering about that. Harmes can bob up for the occasional goal as well.

I think I heard on Ch 7 that Harmes was injured in a seconds scratch match played this afternoon at Princess Park. We can’t take a trick.

I dont really like pinging players... i dont...  but should you play a professional sport, and geven more if you don the Red and Blue then you will come under scrutiny.

I saw something last night i really didn't  like.

The teansgressor is young, raw and obviously not accustomed to the fury and gusto that is finals footy. But it occurred in the last quarter... there was very much to play for..

He was one of several Melbourne players either encircling a particular contest or part thereof.

In footy when its either your turn go.or you're johnny on the spot... you MUST go...you must contest.

In this instance...he simply stopped.  I was aghast.

Hopefully he never does it again.

He can but is still has little ways to go. Doesn't hold that many yet but uis certainly crashing packs. Will be a gun but truth be told if we had tge talent I'm not sure he would have been picked for a final. Not a dig. He's a good player but still developing. That said with our lack of fwds, we will miss him next week.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
