I had the same feeling against the Swans this time last year. We all know how that turned out

You got this mate!  One foot in front of the other!

Starting to think that the Pies form struggles are being exaggerated.

Smashed Essendon by 70 (sure, questionable opposition but if we'd done it we'd be confident), lost to Brisbane by 4 goals (it happens), beat Geelong with 29 scoring shots, lost to a red-hot Carlton but had more scoring shots (remember, we also lost to Carlton) when they arguably should have won. The only 'concerning' game was the Hawthorn one, but it appears at this time to have just been an aberration. They've been navigating some major injury concerns over that period too, which other than Naicos, are now resolved for them.

Before that, they beat Port in Port and barely lost all year other than to us.

It really isn't as unconvincing as everyone is saying?

Comparatively, we've had a far better scores against profile (with 3 tall defenders, which we have moved away from), but for long periods we struggled with Hawthorn, gave Sydney a significant run-on, struggled with North and barely beat Adelaide & Brisbane. I'm not sure we've been as convincing as people think either. Unlike the Pies, our injury issues have actually impacted us structurally at selection too, missing our best key forward and dangerous defensive forward too.

The old "things are never as good or as bad as they seem" truism seems...true

Help, the MFCSS is taking over!

Glorious colours, adorable pooches and a couch sprinkled with dog hair.  Picture perfect.  Add in the 2023 premiership cup and I am done.  Life is complete.

Every single Collingwood fan I've come across in the last 24 hours is confident and thinks they will win. This team has played 3 top 8 teams since KB and gone 1-2. We've played 5 and gone 3-2.

The overwhelming confidence is strange, give me the battle hardened path any day.

nuthin surer

My grandmother passed away this morning so I’ll be a wreck win or lose tonight. Her favorite player was Kozzie Pickett, or as she called him ‘Aaron Davey’. Hoping he kicks a bag tonight for her!

It’ll all pass before the game starts I think. Think rain bands moving quickly W->E and N->S.

For sure looking at the radar now, and importantly in time to make a smart decision about the sub and/or final team

My condolences. My grandma is also on her deathbed. It's a very tough time for a family to go through!

I'm sure she'll be cheering on Davey, I mean Pickett, and he will have a great game!

Ginnivan out helps us I think. One less small forward that can get off the chain. Hibbo to lock down Elliott. Mcvee to lock down Hill. We’re sorted then. Let’s grind these bastards to a halt and shut their supporters up.

There basing it on the players they had out when we played them king's birthday.

Every now and then these anxious flushes come but then I just do this to myself:

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
