I dont get it with McAdam. He's been playing for a while and hasnt set the house on fire not to mention injury issues.

Is our cupboard that bare. I dont think so. If we have better luck in 24 he will struggle to get a game.

Fwds... Petty Jvr Fritsch Pickett Anb Smith and possibly Melksham and a fit BBB with backups Chandler Sparrow and Spargo.

Just another depth player like Dunstan.

Are we being held over for the Wednesday night special.

If so it underscores what a low interest trade period this has been

As a forward, he's well ahead of ANB, Sparrow, Spargo, Chandler, and Smith.

Mcadam has X factor that our forward line needs.

Collingwood just got Schulze for a second round + future second.

Absolute steal IMHO. By that yardstick McAdam for second round pick is more than fair

That really is a steal. [censored] Collingwood

It was a future first... which is actually a fair amount to give up

My bad, one of the feeds on twitter had it as 2 2nd roundres.

pick 34 + future first is quite high a price but I rate him and wouldn't be upset if we paid that. Mcadam still only worth 2nd rounder

Neither Petty ( despite what Tim Lamb said) or Melksham are likely  to be playing before the King's Birthday which means McAdams " depth" may be useful.

Of course BBB and TMac may be cherry ripe and training the house diwn

What do you base your Petty return prediction on?

He is a walk up starter in our 23

Go back and watch what he did to us this year

curious to know why you think petty will be absent for that length of time

A question about McAdam is if he comes how do we clear list spots to use our draft picks?

We currently have two senior list spots and two A Rookie spots (according to the excellent work of the list thread).

If we bring in McAdam we only have one senior list spot left. And that’s if we move Melksham to the rookie list to fill one of the two A rookie spots (if that’s even allowed?).

Assuming we are taking at least one, maybe two or three draft picks who are we dropping from the list?

We currently have Harmes, Grundy, Hibberd, Jordon and Dunstan off the primary list and so far we have Fullarton on and a promise to upgrade D.Turner.  We currently have 3 primary list spots available.

I predict we move Melksham to the Rookie list to make 4 spots, add McAdam, 2 Draft picks and match a bid on K.Brown.

Yes - was chatting with an Adelaide supporting mate over the weekend.  He said McAdam is definitely a best 22 player for them but said he didn't play a lot of games due to injury and suspension.

Yes he's 28 (and I'm not saying I don't think our offer is reasonable) - but he's a bit better than some on here are giving him credit for.

Will be 29 next May and only played 50 games.

Liam Henry just traded to Saints for a F2 and swap of F4's.

He is a more valuable and much younger player than McAdam.

We have offered our F2 for McAdam.

Don't budge Dees, on that Henry trade alone we are overpaying.

I’m really lost why we didn’t chase him or why he didn’t nominate. I get that he has weaknesses but he’d only be chasing one of Hunter or Langdons spots. Or play him as a running HB.

Lis franc  tradition.

He might play earlier, but he quite possibly won't be " right"

I would imagine that Lamb and Taylor don't rate him, or he didn't want to play in the same team as his best mate.

I just rechecked the List LH has already included Shane McAdam, Daniel Turner and Tom Fullarton on the senior list.

If Adelaide are going to play hard ball I would just walk away, apologise to McAdam's manager and not answer their calls. No disrespect to McAdam but we simply cannot be seen to blink first here. I'm not suggesting we should be an Essendon or Geelong at trade time but we can't be painted the suckers of the trade period. Stand firm Dees.

If Lamb and Taylor don't rate Henry, then they didn't watch any Dockers games this year. He had a better season than both Langdon and Hunter, and adds outside run that we need.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
