most between 1-4yo. zero memories. they do it every week. the team song is an important part of bonding the team after a win

FFS you have to having a [censored] poor day with this attitude, who cares if they get the kids involved, do you really think having the kids in the song is going to impact us?

Too valuable to be wasted as a substitute.

Absolutely correct - maintaining BBB there, for the majority of the game, offered no threat, sensible ball retention, marking opportunities, shots at goal from Mr Accuracy (as he is known) and only one 'ball to ground' for the smalls to attempt to exploit. I like BBB but he is static, slowing, largely ineffective under pressure. JSmith reshapes games and up forward, he is a real threat to defenders as he has their key tricks in the back pocket of his shorts.

We’re effectively 3 games clear inside the top 4 with 5 games to come.

With Oliver and Fritsch (and maybe Grundy) to come back.

Adelaide suck on the road, so it was disappointing to see us give up a 5-goal lead twice and then a 4-goal lead twice in the last quarter, but their best is good so it’s not wholly surprising.

Big tests to come against Richmond, a resurgent Carlton, and a Sydney who could be playing for finals in Round 24.

Yes, Adelaide really suck on the road which was shown by their horrific 1 point loss a month ago to Collingwood! Adelaide were playing for their season and this was always going to be a tough game to win. What's this about the big tests to come? No games are easy except when you're playing West Coast, but Adelaide are a better team definitely than Richmond and the Swans. Possibly not Carlton the way they're currently playing. In any case we're 2 games and an insurmountable percentage clear of all teams below us and I'd back Melbourne to win ar least 3 of 5. Win 2 of 5 and we'll still probably make it as I can't see any of the teams below us winning 5 of 5. St Kilda might even lose today which would definitely be an unexpected bonus.

What fantastic preparation for finals. Adelaide plays a very similar game to Collingwood, and to hold off their charge and come away with the win is so much better preparation than a smacking or a loss.

You have to believe we'll be playing Collingwood one or two more times this year and if all goes as expected we'll be likely to be in the exact same spot defending a slim margin in the final minutes then too.

I get that but he was exposed big time on the spread. Just doesn't have the running capacity of others.

I’d have to watch again to see how many times he was the culprit.

I know from previous weeks he can be exposed but overall I thought he was more than solid today.

We saw the return of Danger Zone where Melbourne totally take the foot off the gas when a 30 point margin is reached.

Concerning.

Except unlike last year, we win the game.
Who will remember the margin of this game in September? Literally nobody.

Yes, but with a whole game he tends to go missing. Like Milkshake, he's an impact player. Atm best as a sub

He's the one I think could make space for JJ perhaps

His possessions are taken relatively clear of pressure, and has a low DE%

He also seems to take too many tackles instead of being more aggressive to move ball on

Don't see goody and the team doing it this year, but maybe if they convince JJ to stay next year with offer of competing or taking that wing.

Melbourne win close games: “ooof they’re no good”

Collingwood win close games: “flag”

The Collingwood love in became nauseating about 6 weeks ago. It’s now at vomit inducing levels.

I truly hope they get smacked in the finals and if it’s us doing the smacking even better.

The typical response on here.

Never mind that Adelaide was playing for their season.

Never mind that a few weeks ago the best team in the comp had the same result at the same ground.

Never mind our best player, and best forward, are still out.

I thought the Crows were great. Gave it everything, and I thought we won the game back and did some good things to slow the game down when it mattered.

Our backline is a serious concern at the moment. Two big scores kicked against us in the past two weeks.

.... as tight as Niagra Falls atm. Crows put on a corridor showcase, thank heavens for their inaccuracy today

Defence was poor. Our senior players had another one of those games that completely belies their experience and played like first year players. While they are pretty good most of the time, our senior backs just have too many brain farts to lift our defence to the levels that other repeat premiers were able to get to.

47 tackles to 69 on our home ground is abysmal. 1 to 13 tackles inside 50 actually suggests we just don't understand what makes our current style of play work. That lack of pressure on the oppo is exactly what causes our crowd to lose engagement in the game as we enact our 'by the numbers' ball movement.

Thought Adelaide were the better team and were probably hard done by with umpiring too. Still, we have lost some close ones where we were probably the better team, so it seems to be evening out.

End of the day, we certainly didn't look a class above a 13th placed team who were out of form and coming to our patch. Was hoping last week's win might have started building some momentum as it really is time to start pressing for the home run now. But from the perspective of winning finals we look miles behind Coll and Bris who I think are the pack leaders, and would struggle with Port and Carlton the way we are playing right now.

in fairness not one of them sang one word. 😂

seem indulgent to me. enjoy the win with your teammates and then celebrate with family and friends

when i played, the song and celebrating was a big part of the win. should be just the team imo

Frankly, who gives a FF what happened when you played? Is it in any way relevant? What's (self-)indulgent is you posting this [censored]. Did it cross your mind for one moment this might be what the players want?

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
