Speaking of Geelong, I checked that excluding 2020, the last time we didn’t have to travel to GMHBA was 2014. Every season it’s either only been one game a season and it’s been at GMHBA or twice and hence still a game at GMHBA.

Is the reason for this because we’re an easy selection to get them to their 9 game quota which they need to fill against at least some Victorian clubs?

Gee today is a gold mine for the media. Hawks vs Roos and Tigers vs weagles.

It's somewhat short of compelling viewing , that's for sure od .

In fact I've spent the afternoon enjoying the rare sunshine at The Manor.

Grand old flag is far and away the best theme song in the league. Obviously. Tigerland not bad and I don’t mind the Crows song. other than those I don’t care much for the rest of them.

Sorry GoF will always be a jingoistic US knock off

The Crows song is arguably worse being that of the US Marines !!

Amazing France has never complained about Brisbane/Fitzroy using the National Anthem of France

Time for a reset of the knock offs IMO

I don't know but in any case it gives me the sh1tz. I'm worried about them catching us. Must beat the Croweaters this week.

I can’t see them catching us. They have Brisbane away, Port, Collingwood, Saints (at Marvel) and the Dogs to come. They will lose at least two of them, surely.
If we go 5-1 or even 4-2 from here, then we should have them covered. They’ll be dangerous in September though.

Realistically?

Is there a chance of Hawks passing Freo

Yes. They play each other in round 24, and Hawks still play Richmond, Saints and Dogs down in Tassie. They could definitely win 2-3 more games.
Freo might only win one more, against West Coast.

The Crows tune is the exact same as The Sash (My Father Wore) that many Rangers supporters (and ardent unionists in the Orange Order) sing.

I do think ours is the best but also like North Melbourne's and the banjo in Sydney's.

And considering JVR was almost suspended anything is possible.

Interesting....from the web

The original music is from the Gendarmes' Duet (the "bold gendarmes") from the 1867 revision of the opera Geneviève de Brabant by Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880), which debuted in Paris in 1859.

On the Grand Old Flag

Written by George Cohan of Yankee Doodle Dandy fame....

The original lyric for this perennial George M. Cohan favorite came, as Cohan later explained, from an encounter he had with a Civil War veteran who fought at Gettysburg. The two men found themselves next to each other and Cohan noticed the vet held a carefully folded but ragged old flag. The man reportedly then turned to Cohan and said, "She's a grand old rag." Cohan thought it was a great line and originally named his tune "You're a Grand Old Rag." So many groups and individuals objected to calling the flag a "rag," however, that he "gave 'em what they wanted" and switched words, renaming the song "You're a Grand Old Flag".

Just said on 7 news that it’s looking likely that North will get another priority pick again this year?! WTF

They are not even bottom of the ladder, does that mean West Coast are getting extra picks as well.
Also showed Clarkson at the under 18,s- is this a little sweetener to get him to come back?

Did anyone else expect Brayden Maynard to get done for dangerous tackles?

Very similar to the Chandler one I thought.

Sydney's song is great "bring down the thunder ..."

North's is very ordinary, especially the "out they come" prelude.
